The Pecco/Marquez incident reminded me of the big crash between Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Dovi a few seasons back. Because of the lean angles and where each rider was looking, they made some location of riders assumptions that just happened to be the wrong assumptions. We've seen it before, we'll see it again. The accusations of intentionally taking Pecco out, from Pecco himself no less, are very, very unfortunate. We don't need another repeat of that sort of BS we saw from Rossi in 2015 that still, to this day, brings out the poison \ conspiracy crowd. Hopefully with some time both riders put an end to that sort of nonsense after they've calmed down.

First of all, when you look at the Pecco/Alex incident, you can only judge it from the aerial view from the helicopter. If you do that, you will be able to see Pecco completely closed the inside line. Now, here is the point, when Pecco was shutting down that line, he had never passed Alex completely, in fact far from it, Alex still had his whole front wheel along side Pecco's bike. The best way to explain this is to borrow from the F1 rules, if 2 cars are going into the same corner short of having the lead car completely passed the car behind, you must give racing room. In F1, it is a car's width, the idea is to stop one car running the other car off the track, that is the standard what the FIA considers as fair racing. In the case here, Pecco did no such thing, he just darted across to the right at such an acute angle and completely closed the line, as such Alex really had nowhere to go. And why wouldn't Alex be still accelerating? He was still racing Pecco trying to make the corner. Had Pecco given him say a bike's width of racing room, he could still have competed with Pecco. That to me pretty much summarized what happened and I think they will just call it a racing incident although I do believe Pecco was largely at fault. Pecco could have waited for another corner or two for the straight and he would have had Alex. Is a shame really, it cost both riders a lot of points and Pecco could have ended up on the podium.

I think pecco was to blame for the incident, he pushed for a gap that wasn't there, so glad both riders seemed ok after the fact though...💚🇬🇧🌱 Marquez master class at the front all weekend🫶

1) (helicopter view) Pecco thinks that, even he has not totally overpassed the other rider, he can close the line and the other has to brake...He leaves no room for AM in that corner. For example, if you pass a rider on the straight, not totally, but only with half of your bike, Pecco thinks that then you can put your bike in the line of the other rider and he has to brake...?? 2) When Pecco gets side to side, AM73 just is turning right and looks to the inside of the corner, then he can not see FB63. 3) FB63 has had other similar clashes and always blame the other rider: in France with MV12, in Portugal with MM93, and with JM43. 4) No sanction from Race Direction because they consider Pecco is not right in his accusations. Pecco is fighting for the championship, he should had been clever and wait for a better pass option. You can not pretend overpass another rider form outside without having put your bike clearly in front, and expecting the other to brake when you don't know if he has seen you.

When everyone is going 100% like they are with much to race for for both of them, Pecco is lucky he doesn't have a few broken bones. Reminds me of the race last year where a bike ran over his leg and he emerged basically unscathed. never discount luck!

It was a racing incident. Both riders wanted the exact same position on the track at the exact same time. If anyone is to blame. It would be Pecco. He was the one attempting the overtake to put himself in that location. It is his responsibility to ensure there is room / clearance to complete the pass without incident.

I do worry a little bit about next year with Simon having the final decision on these incidents. He does have a little bit of a bias against the Marquez brothers.

In my humble opinion the incident between Marcos Ramírez and Joe Roberts in Moto2 was a bit similar to the incident between Francesco Bagnaia and Álex Márquez.

Racing incident. It doesn’t matter who is to blame or at fault. The end result biggest loser Pecco. Miscalculated risk! Could’ve easily pass Alex in later laps. Most likely would’ve secured P3 at worst P4. With the Championship this close lost valuable points. It’s a three man race for the Championship. The champion will shock a lot of people but no one will be surprised. Results can be misleading. Just look at the data and the race pace/lap times especially the last 2 races. I don’t think Pecco is worried about Jorge. He is more worried about someone else. That’s why he was impatient in this race and made an unforced error. The pressure is most certainly on!!! It’s not how you start but how you finish!!! LFG!!!

Even he would have passed him on that corner if he would've left some space for Alex... Pecco is making this mistake again and again and sometimes it bites him... He was very lucky last year at Phillip Island when he cut Diggia's line when overtaking Martin.. He was very lucky Diggia wasn't leaning else his championship was done...
@irockrc
@irockrc Ай бұрын
@@salttea8926 Yes, I totally agree. IMO he’s at fault because not only it was an unnecessary overtake especially on the outside he could have left enough room for both Alex and him to pass that corner contrary to what Simon suggested that the outside part of the track was dirty and if he left enough room for Alex Pecco would’ve lost control and crash. If that was the case why he tried to pass Alex on the outside knowing that part of the track is dirty and risky. He closed the line too soon and didn’t completely pass Alex. It doesn’t matter if Alex opened the throttle. It just was an unsafe and bonehead overtake. Like you said this wasn’t the first time Pecco has done this type of maneuver and he has been very lucky so far. I think commentators and podcasters shouldn’t sugar coat it because they’re a fanboy of a certain rider. They talk about rider safety but what Pecco did in this race shouldn’t be condone and should be held accountable. If there is no consequence the rider will keep doing it. The stewards are at fault at this point. Lucky both riders didn’t get seriously injured. Next accident may not be so lucky.

Finicky, sensitive, and a narrow operating window. Maverick could be describing himself. He is the safety valve loser if you forgot who your loser was. Except when he does the double.

Pecco wasn't that close to Alex before that mistake, he should've know that he isn't going to completely overtake him so he should've left some door for Alex... And this is Racing you should expect a rider breaking so you can make a move... Have a look at Philip Island 2023 how Pecco cut Diggia's line when they were overtaking Martin... Loser coming out of these incidents is only and only Pecco, so he should learn something... I remember in 2015 how Lorenzo and Rossi doesn't want to change tyres in that flag to flag race, if one was going to change tyres unless second one was going to do that, they didn't want risk it at all.. That is another topic Lorenzo ended up crashing 😂

As much as I love and respect Pecco…he has done this a few times now. He did the same with Marc a couple of months back. And then blames everyone else. I am MM93’s number one fan but I am trying to be objective here. I feel they both made mistakes here but Pecco had more of the blame since he knew Alex was there and would come back to the line…Alex did not see him!
