Hi there! My name is Anais and I'm a cookier from Mississippi. I actually do drop offs instead of pickups. Is there a specific reason why the both of you prefer to do pickups vs drop offs? I'm really interested in knowing. I do drop offs because it insures the cookies get to their destination in one piece, the customer has to provide an address and drop off time that works for the both of us and after the cookies are dropped off, I get to go about my day. There are pros and cons to this as well. Also, the anxiety of handing off the cookies and waiting for the customer to react... longest 1/2 second of my life!

Hi Anais - thank you so much for watching! This is a great question and think it depends on a couple of factors: 1. How far away are your customers (remember - time and gas are money out of your pocket) and 2. How many orders you’re fulfilling in a week. If you are delivering, make sure you’re factoring the mileage into your final price so you’re being compensated for gas and time. And for a Cookier like Chelsea, a full-time Cookier, she is filling up to 25+ dozen a week with up to 12-15 different customers per week. In that case, she’s not able to take time to deliver to that many different people in one week. Think of it in the sense that you ARE a brick and mortar, people come to those locations to pick up their goods - that’s just kind of the model we mostly use. Hope this helps!

@@TheCookieChat Okay so firstly, I am fan girling right now! Yes, this advice definitely helps. When I first came upon your page, I was looking for some "basic" knowledge on do's and don'ts of starting a small business and then I watched another and another and another. Your videos have truly helped me shape the way I am "trying to run things" . I am very good at decorating cookies, but the business aspect of owning a small business is where I needed help in.
