Really nice video and great instructions. I have a question. If you have a rectangular table, that seats 4, but could seat 6, my question is do you want to hang your table runner off the sides and put your place mats onto the top of your runner? Or make the table runner shorter so the placemats doesn’t cover up your runner?

Jean, you are an amazing teacher. I hadn't even gotten to the end and i was watching and going like 'she explains in simple language and its clear. She repeats the measurements so u dont have to rewind to understand. She skips the self explanatory parts and she even shows us the tricks she used to make it look epic'. Ur a great teacher. Then i hear the end and im like, why do people have to be so nasty. Not everyone is a motivational speaker. But also not everyone can make a good teacher. Even those great orators learnt from teachers who make things simple to understand, great teachers like Jean.. And u should be confident in that. U have found something ur good at and u use it well. Being all over the place is not a bad thing because it helps us ur students to understand. I think such people are only jealous coz they haven't found their own niche. Ignore them. Lots of ❤❤❤💕💕❤❤

You’re a great teacher and explain very very well. A beginner like myself loves the fact that you go to your sewing machine and ironing board to let us see the full process. Keep the videos coming. Don’t acknowledge the creeps, sometimes I think that’s what they want. Delete the comment block and move on. They will give up. They have obviously given up on life and that’s what makes them look for confrontations and think they are bringing some significant meaning to their lives “good or bad”. Thank You ☺️🤠🙏🏻

Many quilters (if not most) like the squared corners of their quilts. I just love the soft rounded look. Just be careful to let the binding go very very loose around each curve, or else you will get a nasty curl-inward when you go to stitch the binding down! All the best and thanks so much! :)

Dear Jean I am watching this video on the 20Th August 2021, in the midst of another LOCKDOWN in Victoria Australia. I am in the process of making a table runner for each of my 2 daughters and my daughter in law. You have just given me such great ideas of how to make them. My answer to negative, hurtful words is, Into the green garbage bag they go, and, forgive them because they don’t know what they do. Bless you and your beautiful family.

Wonderful Carmen! You are very kind!! I have learned to have VERY large shoulders and let the nasties (which aren't that frequent nowadays) roll right off! It's lovely people like you that keep me going! All the best for the runners:)

Jean, those of us who watch u get how u teach! We enjoy that you bring us into your sewing room as if we were right there. Please do not let the trolls get to u! They literally spend all they're time being nasty! They go from one video to the next just being nasty. I feel very sorry for them. To have such a miserable existence that u spend time trying to make others miserable is just sad and sick! Please keep up the great videos. I love how this runner is done and i can actually make one. I know i can do this. Put the idiots out to pasture and try and have a good day!

I look at it this way this is your channel (home) as such I will respect what you do and who you are. PERIOD!!! Your sons were correct thou some people are just nasty. Don't let them get to you, we call them trolls and they are not worth your time nor your wonderful personality. Love YOU CHANNEL BUNCHES!!!!!!! Oh and thank you for the GREAT lesson today I now know how to make a BEAUTIFUL table runner. Hang in there and let the trolls go live under a bridge, :0)

Hi Jean, I just finished watching your 2017 video on how to make a table runner, I really enjoyed it, I'm a new quilter and embroiderer so there is still a lot to learn. I just want to say I am so glad that you didn't let those negative comments get you down, I agree with you, if people don't like your videos, all they have to do is don't watch them, they don't have to criticize you or say mean things to hurt your feelings, all I have to say is that they don't have the joy of the Lord living inside of them. I think you are very brave to share your talents with people, I don't think I could do it. I just want to encourage you to continue on teaching and sharing, and I will continue watching.

Jean, I do not comment often, but I felt moved to tell you this. People who make unkind remarks, are not worth robbing you of even one second of your joy. It is unfortunate that they are not yet evolved as decent, secure human beings. I think of you as if we are both in your wonderful quilting space, with you graciously showing me how to do something that I want to learn how to do. I, like many, many of your followers like and respect you for being exactly like you are naturally. You don't ever have to apologize or put yourself down. You are precious and fun and GENEROUS to allow us to enter your world. I would venture to guess 99% of us, are thrilled to get to do that. Life is short. Don't spend any of your precious time letting any rude and mean spirited goon take that from you. Don't let them "win" by stealing precious minutes. Ruining your day is just what they, in their meaness, want to do....don't let them do that to you. Thank you for all you have shared with us!!!!! You are again, precious.

So awesome! Need to make one for my Egyptian busts. Don’t let the negative people get to you, just remember one thing: those people who say/do things like that are pretty gloomy people. They are miserable with their lives and just decide “oh I’m going to ruin her day”. When you think about it like that, then you actually feel kind of sad for those people. Don’t let them ruin your positivity 😊 please stay my beloved rambling ADD quilt loving person

I have made several of these over the last 2 years with your video. This IS my favorite table runners to make. I've done them with fancy quilting throughout on them, and one I did with numerous straight lines which looked so cool with the metallic lined material I used on one of them. On one I used several fabrics in one line and cut them into the sizing I would need to go down the whole thing. I LOVED that look using so many fabrics of the same line. Thank you for sharing your gift of teaching and sewing with a friend. Love that you chit chat as you go ;+) They beautify your home and make wonderful gifts.

First I'd like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed your video and how quick I can make table runners. I'm terribly sorry that whomever it was that made the negative comment. Shame on them! When all they had to do was turn it off and watch another video or whatever they wanted to do. Glad I found you because the table runner that I was going to make was going to be more complicated than need be! Keep up the good work Jean!
