1992 was a fulcrum year for computer tech standards/popularity. The 486DX was released, SVGA became the norm, MS windows 3.1 was released, CD drives were close to affordable, Soundblaster 16 was released, WWW had overtaken BBS, Ethernet had become the popular home/business standard in networking. How could this Amiga ever compete with that. To be clear this weeks Amiga offering is a moth in a plexiglass container with a spider.

Maybe, but no surprise now in 2024 the moth is still in the wardrobe. ;-)

Internet at the home did not start get widespread adoption until about '95. Then I still used very limited email and Usenet News access through a bridge from a BBS.

In my opinion the A600 was a pointless overpriced waste of everybody’s money at the time of release, but with the IDE and PCMCIA functionality it has aged like a fine wine.
