To be fair, Clyde grew up homeless. He was put in big boy prison at 19, repeatedly raped. He killed his rapist. So, it’s not fair to compare him to a person who grew up in a home.

Frank Hamer didn't mess around! He said he had no problem killing Bonnie because she had killed 5 cops. When he stepped into the road and stopped them Bonnie and Clyde knew they were toast.

The posse used Remington Model 8 rifles along with 1 1874 Winchester 30.30, a BAR copycat called a Monitor (can't recall mfg at the moment but I believe it was S&W), 12 gauge pump shotguns and many handguns as backup. There was no way they were getting away. Frank Hamer was a legendary lawman. The Legends of the Old West podcast has an excellent 5 or 6 part series on him worth listening to.

My great grandmother made dresses in West Dallas. When they were killed Cummie had nothing to wear for Clyde’s funeral. My aunt knew one of the Barrows and they lent her the dress for her to attend. She did eventually get the dress back. Back then people didn’t really wear deodorant so my grandmother said that her mother was so mad because she got it back smelly and dirty, she also mentioned that Cummie had holes in her underwear when she got fitted for the dress. Also Bonnie was initially buried at Fish Trap cemetery but she was moved where she is now

I thought that was a made up story of Bonnie shooting the patrolman, seen it said many other places that she never shot anyone.
@northernlight461411 ай бұрын
@ALH072 There are a lot of inconsistencies to this video from what I have read over the last 30 years. The eyewitness account to the murder of the two motorcycle cops was discredited because he was too far away to see anything. Also, Methvyn was not asleep in the car. Clyde said "Lets take them" (kidnap them). Methvyn didn't know what that meant so he grabbed a BAR (not a shotgun) and shot one or both of them. Clyde may have shot the second one after Methvyn botched the kidnapping. Bonnie? There is no evidence that she ever fired a gun in battle. The famous reenactment showing her standing over a downed officer and killing him has long been discredited as the witness was too far away to see anything. An STD that she gave to every gang member? Please. Too funny. Finally it was fellow deputy Ted Hinton that had a liking for Bonnie and visited her at her cafe, not Bob Alcorn. Ted Hinton was single, Bob Alcorn was married. I'm nor sure where the author got his sources.

Where did you get the spelling of (Methvin). An expert like you should at least get the spelling right.@@northernlight4614
@danzaccount9 ай бұрын
Thank you, northern lights, for your comments. I tend to believe your side of the story as Bonnie was so crippled up at the end she wouldn't have walked out there and shot the patrolman. It was Methvin. I believe he was killed years later because he was a rat. Many of these untruths spread after their seats to sensationalized the story. Bonnie wasn't an angel, she was very bad, but not how this story portrays her. Thank you for pointing out these inconsistency.

Hunting B. & Clyde; Hamer balked at the compensation of $180 a month, less than half his current pay, but Simmons reiterated that Hamer would collect his fair share of the reward money. He further added to the deal by authorizing Hamer to take whatever he wanted from among the Barrow Gang's possessions when he caught them.

@gmanjacks179312 күн бұрын
I don't believe that, after researching B & C for decades, I never heard that, not even from those who were with them, such as WD and others. J E Hoover was known to lie. Bonnie was definitely married to a loser. He left her for two years, and nowhere has it been found that she ran around with other men. She actually waited for him, so that does not compute.
