So adding aluminum to a steel rail is a good idea?

Generally not a good idea due to eventual galvanic corrosion potential. We used aluminum tracks for the solar panels but fastening required something other than aluminum. Aluminum bolts are just not a reality. Two years in now and no corrosion. noted.

Sunday night (in the UK) time to sit down and see what Gary and Kirsten have been up to 🙂 So lots of solar, how much does that total up to please?

1.6 KW potentially. Of course, the sails and the boom always conspire against the Sun as they will, capricious little things. Generally we will end up with 400 watts for the house nominal and generally 300 watts out of the 400 designated for each of the two electric motors

How’s the lateral stability of the arch? Did it come with much cross bracing? Beautiful set up!

@@camdening7315 bottle stability is quite excellent! Before installing it one must actually tension the two sides together with a come along or something similar. That really adds a lot but surprisingly, this material is all schedule 80, not schedule 40 aluminum. It is so well built. I'm really impressed with this company's product. We based our decision on other people's reviews and this product really checks out.
