Like the hold off system Norm, simple as. As a more robust version, I used a system with a S/S block on the end of the anchor chain with the anchor line in an endless loop where tidal range was large or shore break was more than ideal. Drop and set the anchor and block on the way to shore, disembark and pull the dinghy back out towards the set anchor and tie off on the shore using one of those corkscrew pegs the dog owners use to anchor leads. Cheers Brad

Hey norm seems a little dodgy in design mate , I’ve noticed more and more people using these elastic front anchor ropes now , they about 15 meters long , they drop anchor and just back into beach and drop stern anchor, the stretched elastic front anchor just retracts and pulls boat out bow into waves , when do you think you will be back in the broad-water , it looks super busy all the way up the coast this year ,cheers dude

Yeah dude. Might have to try that. It is really busy this year. Lots of dudes cruising. I'm in the marina at Magnetic Island and think I might stay for the summer Richard. Good set up here and a pool. Might head to the gulf next season.
