In December I was on Queen Elizabeth, we went from Melbourne to Burnie, then from Burnie up to Sydney. Bass Strait was quite mild sailing

Hi Norm, nice video. While at the wooden boats go and say hi to Goondooloo the 63ft wooden ex Sydney pilot boat. Tell my mate I wish I was there. All the best Steve.

Of course you should. Why would you even consider depriving them of such an adventure. They will re-live Grandpa's trip, and YOU, every Boxing Day- forever! All aboard kids 🎉❤

Great episode Norm. Lovely to see your grandkids catching the sailing bug. I believe my dad was a light house keeper on Deal many, many moons ago.

Great stuff Norm 👍I reckon you would love Starlink RV - provides fantastic internet coverage across the entire voyage. I've done the trip to AWBF a couple of times in small boats. It will be a very memorable trip for your family - particularly the young ones. There were so many places where there was no internet reception when I did it. Starlink RV is a real game changer. There was a special half price deal for Aust - not sure whether its still going but might be worth checking out. Enjoy the AWBF. Look forward to watching more episodes. Cheers, Mike

Fabulous episode! I’ve bushwalked to Refuge many times over the years, was great to see it from a boats perspective, and we would have called that “typical prom weather”! Nice to see the family on board, what a memorable adventure it would have been for you all. So lucky to have a true sea dog in the family to take them along.

Yeah dude. It was great having them along for the trip. A great spot.

Why do people still take animals on boats and also why do people not wear life vests on small craft. Hit a ship container or a whale and you will all drown in minutes, 100%
@MotorSailingforOldDudes Жыл бұрын
People take animals on boats because they love them Ross. And wouldn't class Peggy- Anne as a small boat and have never seen one of those containers in 40 years at sea. Thanks for the comment dude.

Life vests are pretty useless unless you can swim to shore or be picked up before you get too cold - that’s why they use lifelines and harnesses…..
