@Poop Poop that quote is a direct one from Nietzsche and went something like "God is dead.. and there's not enough water in this world to wash the blood from our hands". It took me 12 years to realize that I like hard music. 6 years more to realize that music can be so much more than something you listen to. That was when I found Architects. I started to really getting into bands (not only this one), reading backstorys, interviews, lyrics. Search for things I could learn from songs. I fell into a hole because of bullying, anxiety and shit like that. I bought All our god have abandoned us. And it fucking saved my life. Short moments of bliss, 3 to 5 minutes each, made me rethink many things. Listening to the album over and over again kept dragging me out of my personal hell. At the next Architects show I visited, I cried my soul out. All the emotions. The ability to actually let them out triggered by simple words, sung by a normal person. September '18, I fell into another hole. Broken heart, more anxiety, the fear of losing my job. Then Hereafter was released, Holy Hell was announced. And I just couldn't stop smiling. Probably one of the biggest smiles in my entire life. For me this band is more than just music. They made me understand what music means to me. They kept me alive. They brought light into my darkest days. And the sad thing is, I will never be able to thank them in person for doing more for me then most people on this planet. So I will write it down here. Thank you Architects, for giving me the strength to fight my depression. For saving my life twice. And for making the fucking best music, I could listen to. I look forward to your show in munich next year ❤ So. this was my story. Short version but still longer than i thought it would be. And Thank you to everyone who made the effort to read this.

Architects have been a band I grew up on back in Hollow Crown days. I first picked that album up in HMV at 16 back in 2010, and I fell in love with them on first listening. It was energetic. It was melodically creative. It was honest. Something was different about them and as people. Taken me time to understand, and several listenings, but they grew on me naturally. And after every other album from HC, I had taken hiatus from them after The Here and Now. Then I started listening to them again at All Our God Have Abandoned Us. Honestly, it felt like they matured with me! They brought inspiration again... Until I heard about Tom. It hit me so hard. Still does to this day. The amazing music he left behind when I was growing up... This will always be for Tom. Architects push boundaries. Holy Hell is promising. I feel hope in their progress. And it feels good to know that they are fighting back the grief with beauty and creativity. They’ve always been a huge inspiration. And now, they always will be. I hope they heal from what they’ve experienced. I too lost somebody I loved last Christmas. They were a guiding light in my darkest nights. I understand them. And they understand me. I connect with them musically and as a human being. Architects, thank you for making a man happy whenever your music plays. You give insight. “Momento Mori. Be mindful of death.”

Must be pretty uncomfortable singing with an arrow sticking out of your chest. Proves that Sam truly is the best metal vocalist

It's a shame Josh isn't doing any kind of backing vocals, imo got a much better screaming voice

The square room Sam is singing in is the prison cell, mentioned in "this is a prison for lost souls" Each member has something they are suffering from (addiction, pain, disease etc.) The fog inside the room is a metaphor for the haze or cloud of confusion after losing a loved one The dinner table is showing how people can ignore the suffering of others by distracting them The TV crew that shows up as Sam is on his deathbed is supposed to be the people who were supposed to be there for Tom during his final days The grey room Sam is in could be symbolic of the purgatory someone is in during their dying days? Of course these could all be just me over analyzing the visuals and the lyrics of the song but if you squint, it makes sense Holy Hell is a fucking master piece, and hopefully they release a video for each song

With so many people listening to rap, the hard hitting screamers are the reason that music is still good.

I was locked up when this album came out and boy I couldn't wait to play it on my release date which was January 21, 2019. This song hit me hard. This album means alot to me. I lost my aunt and grandma and friends in the last 2 years. I am blessed to still be alive. God has fought so many battles for me.
