As the video title says, it's an excerpt...KFJC let a bunch of the the hangers-on into the studio to sing along during the last 20 minutes of or so of the jam. A buddy of mine and I were lucky enough to be there at the right time, and got to sing along on the chorus. I got to sing "Louie Louie" along with Richard Berry and Jack Ely... a great time !

This was such a fun time. Crew cuts and bowling shirts. We did our own version under the name of "Twist Off And The Caps." I was as totally inadequate on bass as I was on back up vocals. It did not matter as we delivered the tape to KFJC and witnessed our "masterpiece" being played on the air live during the legendary marathon. Have the memories. WIsh I still had the T-shirt. Long live all of the KFJC legends: "Doc" Pelzel, Marty, Lynda, Stretch, Zep, Hawkeye, Scott Stapleton, Jeff Cloninger and all those I can't remember due to old age and other life indulgences. I did go on to be Promotions Director, Music Director, D.J. and Program Co-Ordinator for the 1985 Inter Collegiate Broadacasting System in 1985. Our Keynote Speaker was Frank Zappa and Matt Heckert from Survival Research Laboratories gave a well received lecture.

Lady Bo [Peggy Jones] was the guitarist with Bo Diddley in the late 50's and early 60's. And here in the 80's : kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6LRhoeQiJ5omZYsi=s-kWdMj_LeAQoN5W

I strongly recommend the book Louie, Louie by Dave Marsh. It gives an in-detail account of the origin of the song, the music scene in the Pacific Northwest in the late 50s and early 60s. the different bands that played the song, the details of the studio session in which The Kingsmen recorded the song (followed a week later by Paul Revere and the Raiders recording it in the same studio), how the song broke nationally, and--oh yeah--Marsh HATES The Kingsmen.
