Nice video, really. I like your vibe and attitude. I have heard frequently that the cartilage is unlikely to heal if someone got fifties or sixties. In your opinion, is that true ?

Finally I found someone that described my problem. I have a cracking sound whenever I'm straightening my knee. How can I get this clunking sound out of my knee?
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
@epmanualphysicaltherapy 2 жыл бұрын
Does it hurt Rapolas? If it doesn't hurt, then it's likely arthritis or a meniscus injury that is under control. You have the best chance at reducing the sound by strengthening the right muscles. Usually the glutes are a good place to start. @@epmanualphysicaltherapy It doesn't hurt at all whenever it cracks. I started having this problem after I got hit on the medial side of the knee. It's probably a Meniscus tear. How long till I can play basketball again? Thank you for responding.

Hey P. Naaz! Sorry to hear about your knee cartilage damage :-( It sounds like taking that rest for a month calmed your knee down enough for you to want to try out exercise. That's good! Keep in mind that knee cartilage takes 6-12 months to heal enough to get back to doing everything you want to do without worrying about it getting worse. You likely need to fix some muscle imbalances and gradually load your cartilage so that you can make it stronger over time while allowing it to fully heal. There's some great exercises to start with here: Top 5 Glute Muscle Exercises For Knee Pain kzbin.info/www/bejne/hInHdJ2KZ7angKM If you are looking for more comprehensive help for your knee, the you'll want to learn about our 28 Day Knee Health & Wellness Boost Program. It's a 100% online and on-demand program with exercises, coaching and advice from Dr. David. Learn more about it here: www.epmanualphysicaltherapy.com/knee-health Does that help P. Naaz?

I think I have a meniscus problem but not sure. When I sit for a long time I have pain and need to slowly stand up.. if I walk a long time I have pain as well. Today I jumped out of a van and landed on my “bad” leg and had really terrible pain but after 10-20 seconds I could walk it off (limping a little).. right now several hours later it’s throbbing. I don’t have any sounds coming from my knee

what about clicking on the outside of my knee as it bends
@epmanualphysicaltherapy
@epmanualphysicaltherapy 7 ай бұрын
Hi Ak, it could be various things. We would need to perform a proper evaluation to determine what the root of the problem is. Both cartilage damage and meniscus tears can cause this. It's also known as crepitus. Check out this video: “Why are my knees crunchy? | Cause of Knee Crepitus | Knee pain & Cartilage Problems” kzbin.infobbhjeHnA3Do We wish you all the best in your road to recovery!

Aside from the normal (for some) crackling or roughness of the cartilage, is it possible to suddenly injure/tear the cartilage (not meniscus)? If so, would an MRI easily show a tear in the cartilage versus the meniscus?

Hey Emad! So sorry to hear about your back problem and knee surgery last year :-) It sounds like you very well might have a problem in your back based on your tingling sensation in your right shin and pinched nerve feeling in your back. It could be that the knee surgery from last year started left you weak and walking abnormally. This could set up your back problem. Have you tried to do any exercises for your back? These 2 exercises might be right for you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGG3l56qa7p-l9k

Hey Marla, tough question. This is very dependent on each person. It depends how bad the inflammation is, how the person's general health is, and of course other conditions that may be compounding.
