Exactly what I was looking for. Wouldn't have known about having rubbing alcohol handy from the package and it was a must. Great info thanks

Denatured Alcohol is better if you cannot fully scuff the surfaces as it has the least amount of distillates which maybe left in the cracks the epoxy is searching for to hold on to. Most other epoxies recommend acetone, but you may need to look into the chemical composition of the plastic your working with to see if that is appropriate as acetone can degrade some plastics. Overall it is best to just scuff the surfaces.

8/2018 I used the metal filler/oil pan repair on my 1996 Jeep GC and a pin hole in the oil pan. I drained the oil and sprayed with brake clean, then used 80 grit then spayed again with the brake clean, I bought 2 tubes on Amazon for 13.00 and used both, let sit for about a night then used tube 2, after another day of drying I added the oil nd NO MORE LEAKS, great product and hope it lasts

2:43 "Use lots; we're happy to sell you more.";) Legit advice though, because the resin and hardener often require different pressure to dispense. So the plunger flexes sideways, initially pushing out more of one than the other. The more you dispense, the less that volume difference matters.

How do you tack the cap off to start using the syringe? All seems to be a solid piece of plastic. Do you have to cut off “butterfly“ on end with a knife?

Rubbing alcohol? What about Acetone for actual cleanup? A great mixing stick is a disposable wooden chopstick from a Chinese takeout restaurant. One takeout chopstick can easily be used for four epoxy mixing episodes. I create custom epoxy application tools by sanding a chopstick to the desired shape & thickness on my benchtop belt sander. Good tip on the Superglue vs Epoxy application use case.

I have purchased twin syringe epoxies and experienced frustration with first use because one syringe or the other is clogged. When the plunger is pushed, you get a s**t ton of the contents of the unclogged barrel. This is with a brand new container, just opened. Apparently these type dispensers have a very limited shelf life.

Mekratrig my syringe doesn't even work .You can't remove the plastic cap without breaking the nosel and you can't push it in . Completely useless....

Thanks for the video but My Permatex 500° Epoxy, did not work. It became brittle by high heat. I used to cover crack leak on my coolant reservoir but it does not stick- gets brittle and peeled off after few hours of driving.

Reasonably good video but for one thing. The project shown, is never going to hold together with that epoxy repair attempt. It's going to be nowhere near as strong as the original material was, which already broke once. Something like that needs a minimum of a metal reinforcement back plate put on to reinforce it.

Tips for version 2.0 of this video: 1. Don't say "don't use a plastic cup to mix your epoxy" and then play video of the demonstrator (the person who should be doing everything correctly) using a plastic cup for mixing the epoxy. 2. Don't neglect the repair quality of your demonstration piece as in this video the part being repaired is about 1/4" out of alignment ( see 4:30). 3. Do use some of the tips you suggest in your text such as the tooth pick and the popsicle (R) sticks. Human minds are conditioned to remember things better overall if there are matching audio/visual aids involved. 4. Know your audience. This is likely to be viewed by customers who fix expensive equipment as why not just buy a new part if the part was cheap to replace, right? This means they are, on average, of high than average intelligence, more likely to pay attention to details, and more likely to use critical thinking to solve issues in their lives. If you present a seemingly hap-hazardly put together video like this, you are sending a message that you do NOT pay attention to details, that if you are so careless with how you present your company and your products you may similarly be careless with other aspects of your business, aspects which may negatively impact your customers (e.g. lack of attention to epoxy quality standards resulting in recalls and potentially fatal product failures in the field.) Your product seems decent, you deserve to have it viewed as such. Hire a professional staff with a couple attention to detail nerds like me next time.
