Then the upper Tennessee river in the 🍂 fall, after the heat, and maybe Florida keys after November. We love our boats. ⛵

Holy...... A friend of mine sailed from Los Angeles to Honolulu in 37 days in 1969... He said one time he was in the doldrums.... And t h e r e was so little movement that there was no rigging noise.... And the ocean was a sheet of glass. And it was just dead quiet... He was in a 14-ft enclosed sailboat... And he still has the sailboat in storage...

I used to repair boats. a few tips. When filling those dents...spend time to outline them with masking tape. Mix some very short piece of fiberglass with the epoxy (I'll explain at the end how to make these) fill the dent with epoxy. Place more masking take over epoxy. Pull when cured. *** To make tiny pieces of fiberglass, get some light fiberglass and with a razor, cut about 1/16" slices off the fiberglass. Slice at 45 degrees to weave. Mix this cut glass mulch with your epoxy (you don't need much, but adding the glass will prevent the epoxy from running). This will stay in the dents. After the dent is filled with the epoxy w/glass, cover with masking tape. Remove the tape when the epoxy has cured to a consistency of hard chocolate. You'll end up with a smooth surface & with little or no clean up.

Holly, really cool vid! I enjoy when you add new thing's, change, or just do routine maintenance, to your boat. I cary two fire arms on my boat. A less lethal, and my 9mm pistol for protection, or my safety. I did buy a monocular, after using my dad's Binoculars for years. They're really cool to have, on your vessel, for an emergency, or many other uses. Now they make them ten inches long, they come with a mini Tri-ipod, and can reach a 1/4 mile out to m7ch further, tgan that. They're also not expensive either. Stay safe! ⛵ 🌊 😎

A tip on paint tins, the first time you open the tin get a small screw driver and hamer hit the tip down in the groove, 4 or 5 around the diameter. This allows any paint in the groove to drain into the tin. The lid seals on the outer lip so the tin is still properly sealed, and when you pour paint out the paint drains out of the lip making cleaning the tin very easy.

Great idea having deck gauge for screws, will use that one. Can I suggest white vinegar for your waterways (both in and around the boat) , just as good for what you were doing as that poisonous bleach, especially if you leave vinegar to soak. Difference is you can drink it without poisoning yourself. I understand a rust busting acid is only way to kill established rust but lanolin spray or lanoline grease (*straight from the sheep's back to you) is a less poisonous way to keep them free of rust in their respective containers once done. Great natural anti galvanic action agent too. Sliders in mast, sheaves, winches all good with lanolin. I guess I just think that seeing we are living directly on this liquid environment, and some natural products work just as well, maybe we should lean towards them more than always going nuclear with bleach and ranox and all the rest. I am experimenting this year with melted lanolin on the prop instead of prop speed for example (partly for environment, mainly because of exorbitant price) 4 months in pretty good so far, I will see. Thanks for the content.
