For example, you could give the sandwich a thin coat of UV resin and cure that quickly with a UV light to seal it and then encase it completely in regular resin. That works just fine. Honestly though, if other tests I've seen done with food or other things that can spoil are accurate I say that the sandwich will start getting moldy after a few months. He might have gotten it to last longer if he had dehydrated or freeze dried the sandwich but I'm not sure the cheese pull would have survived the process though, unless something non-stick was carefully holding it in place until the last minute. 😅

I think the reason for the sticky resin on the back of it was from not destroying any residual bubbles in the epoxy with a heat gun after pouring. Usually to fully sure the resin, usea heat gun and quickly graze over the piece (all sides) this will remove any bubbles trapped inside and allow for a full cure. Hope this helps if you try again.
@patrickhector4 ай бұрын
The bubble popping is just to pop the bubbles, nothing to do with curing - just that having bubbles in the final product looks terrible
@TheBleetbleet4 ай бұрын
Sticky resin is honestly likely bad mixing but it might just be too thick of a pour
@-iceraptor-4 ай бұрын
@@patrickhector yes it most certainly does, the bubbles (BEING LITTLE AIR POCKETS) will most certainly and definitely affect the way that it cures, and/or how fast it cures or if it even cures properly. Come on.. how won't little air pockets in the mold affect the cure ?? It will.. now depending on the mix and the pour and a couple other prep factors (pouring slow is better) but will depend on how many bubbles their are and how much they will affect the final product/the cure process. Also the temperature/humidity in the room can and will most likely affect it.
@patrickhector4 ай бұрын
@@-iceraptor- the bubbles popped with the flame are literally only the ones on the very surface, which will have 0 impact on the cure of the rest of the mold it's just to avoid having ugly bubbles covering the surface

It could just be due to the obvious reason that the epoxy on the other end had no exposure to air so couldn't dry as properly lol

Ooh sounds like a soft cure, make sure you very evenly mix the two together. They should be exact and you should make sure to mix plenty! Also buying a pressure pot can help too!! In order to prevent the sticky back, you have to make sure your mixture is 2 things, A, perfectly fifty/fifty ratio, and you need to make sure it is fully mixed! If you try this again, I preserve things all the time and I like to do 3 layers of epoxy, layer one about 3/8 of the mold filled, then dry it, add another thin layer, about 4/8 full at that point, add your perserved Item, And let it harden just enough so the item is stuck, Finally, fill it the rest of the way 💕 love this channel!!
