This method does seem to have left marks in my mould ... Someone did comment and say that it had happened to hers in the past. I just checked tonight ... mine also have subtle marks that I could only see by holding my moulds up to the light. I do not know if this will impact future projects but I do know that a top coat will hide it anyway. Please only re-create this at your own risk.
In this video I show you how I made these gorgeous trinket trays by painting directly on the moulds. The moulds and foil are linked below if you would like to purchase them. They are Affiliate links at no extra cost to you but supports me and my channel.
I paint black acrylic paint directly on the moulds and place the foil directly on to dry silicone mould also. noglue is needed.

Update: This method does seem to leave subtle marks in silicone moulds. It was brought to my attention and I checked mine. Mine are only visible when held up to the light so I do not yet know what the long term impact will be. Please try this method at your own risk and I will try and update this when I have. I always top coat so I know the top coat will hide marks. However if you do not want to top coat, possibly avoid this method.

Hi Claire my name is Stephen Paul Whitman I have been watching your videos on KZbin the past 2 weeks and I am very interested in using jesmonite as I use to use epoxy resin for my mould but I am allergic to it so cannot use it anymore. I would like too know the best jesmonite to buy? And where you purchase your trinket moulds? Also I laser engrave my designs onto balsa wood 3mm thick, ceramic tiles,glass,plywood,acrylic. Can these be put into the moulds and then covered with jesmonite and then sealed afterwards?

Hi Claire! these are stunning!! How do you measure the resin? Is it just the same ml's as the mould holds with water? F.e. 200 ml water = 200ml mixed resin in total?

What a lovely job you've made of those, especially for someone who "can't paint"?! Can I just ask though, has the paint damaged your moulds in any way or left any sort of dull marks on the shiny surface? I made some cats this way and the acrylic paint degraded the moulds very quickly which was a bummer! I'm just wonering whether it was my moulds?

Do you wear a mask when pouring? I was going to do this in my garage for better ventilation but it's now 30° farenheit and I'm worried about the curing process in this cold.. I'm wondering if I can pour in my office and then do the sanding in my garage?

Heyyyy Samantha, I wear a mask from the moment I open the bottles yes ... and I do not take my mask off until I have left the room. Ventilation and a respirator are the most important things. It will have a struggle curing in cold weather .... it could take weeks. So yes you can pour in your office ... and then once cured, sand it in your garage for sure x

Thank you for this video! I have been really curious about using acrylic paints in my moulds. I love mica powder but it's so messy and doesn't stay put for me so I was wanting to try painting, but I didn't know how well painting a mould beforehand would work. oooo I have had the heating on all over the cold weather so they cure in 10 ... but de-mould 24 hours later xxx heating is set to 22

Im using the same resin vista can i ask how many days it takes to full cure im new to all this i did some coasters and by the 7th day in the odd places they are a bit sticky would you know why I love you work

Heyyyy Lynne, if it still sticky then it will be one of three things. It wasnt mixed totally and utterly together. Sometimes if you scrape the pot out .. there may be some un mixed resin at the bottom. second: it wasnt measured absolutely right. although I always think 1 or 2 g out ... doesnt make much difference x Third .. temperature of the room x if the temperature drops it can be uncured in places. but days later I would say it was the mixing x

hey lovely ... depends on the mould you are using I guess .. but these moulds have room for a 1mm top coat
