Hey Paul, these Tap Handle videos have been very helpful, the clever way of numbering each tap, using the threaded insert and bolt to mount, the template with the shape and measuring, and the camera and editing work to a new level! Later, Murph

Wow, very nice work. Although, I would not have bothered cutting the corners off on the table saw before putting them on the lathe. Seems like an extra step to me. Perhaps a spindle roughing gouge is in order? Beautiful results regardless!
@JackmanWorks7 жыл бұрын
For just 1 I probably wouldn't, but for this set of 6 it's totally worth it. That's a lot of extra material that is removed so you don't have to turn it down. Also, the initial cuts are then less aggressive and it's easier to get round.
@Mcphilsmith7 жыл бұрын
Nice technique on the tops with the epoxy. I wondered how you did that when I saw photos. I know that feeling when you start out with the epoxy and you and all exact and clean. Smash cut to it being everywhere and you are rubbing it in with gloved hands.

Simply gorgeous, man! Outstanding work! How long had that beech log been drying? You must have been so delighted when you saw just how much spalting was in there once you milled it down. Turned out so awesome.
@JackmanWorks7 жыл бұрын
I had the log kicking around for a couple of years but I still let it dry between planing it down and actually pouring the epoxy in and turning it. If you watch closely you can notice I got a new camera in the time while they were drying :D
@FishersShop7 жыл бұрын
What kind of camera did you get? I'm still using some garage-sale quality HD camcorder and I'm getting pretty desperate to step up my game. Shoot me a message sometime. I'd be real interested in talking through what gear you use and what your process is. Mine is in desperate need of refinement.
