Before I watched the anime and on the basis of solely watching amvs, I concluded that Haru and Ren were some kind of supernatural/spiritual beings who were soulmates (cuz my mind didn't wrap around the fact that he kissed a child). Ren's spiritual form is a wolf and Haru is an immortal who doesn't age and had been given the duty to protect and train Ren. Even though Ren's body was small, he was mature enough to understand that they were soulmates and were destined to be together. But Haru said that they can't be together then because this world would judge them. But Ren being a supernatural being grows up at an unnatural pace, both his intellect and his body. Ren is being hunted by some beings and he has nightmares about it and Haru tries to protect him and together they try to unravel the mystery of who is sending threats to Ren. I really thought the story would be somewhat like this 😂 Like why did they have to be adoptive brothers? Could have been a friend's brother or anyone who develops feelings towards Haru when he grows up. Like Haru literally considered and called him his little brother but Ren was very clear about his feelings!! There are also so many instances where Ren literally calls Haru a pervert and kicks him for forcing himself on Ren. Like he was just a child!!!! He even dressed Ren as a girl and forcefully took pictures of him. This anime does give me an unsettling feeling!

Well I feel like you still hit the nail on the head haha and most of that is probably true, cause Ren was always pretty mature for his age and confident in his feelings. I still haven't finished this anime after finding it when it first came out so idk what happens but I'm going to finish it sometime cause I loved it, I really did. Ren is so cute, they all were and its funny, but yeah I didn't know how to feel at some parts too since they're adopted brothers lol. But cant deny it's still cute and had me crying at some parts too lol. My thing is I also wanted to see some more about Rens past, poor thing was still having flashbacks, so wonder if they show that later, I honestly don't know how many more seasons they probably made. Even tho a part of me still feels like Ren was a vulnerable damaged kid and needed to get to know a healthier love that's not borderline criminal lol 😅 I think Haru is a bit damaged too ( I mean who isn't if we're being really real..lol) and that's why they work, they probably do need eachother so the other part of me just tries embracing how precious they both are as characters. Just wish they made them a lil closer in age, I don't even remember how far the age gap is tho lol 🤔 *Edit* Just saw another amv and it seems Ren is kinda aware of the situation and not knowing where his feelings came from tbh, not knowing if its cause he didn't have parents etc. 🥺 Its so cute and sad, Haru even said sorry cause he didn't understand the difference between love, hate, or being abandoned. I'm glad they're atleast touching base with these feelings/ emotions and not ignoring the psychology of it or else it would just feel strange haha. Makes it feel so much better tbh. And the fact someone commented on Ren saying he actually didn't want to be his brother in the first place and just be around people who love him. 😭 I think we just have to watch it all without thinking of it in a weird way like we're used to and been conditioned to. Also now I know they're 17 and 24 lol so not really bad tbh, I thought so cause I remember Haru not being that much older despite him looking like a dad 😆.

I just wish they didn't have to be adoptive brothers and a lil less age gap would have made it better but people say age of consent in Japan is diff so I guess that makes sense to them and like they could literally have been anyone else except being brothers 💀 like imagine that happening in real life, the FBI would be asking them to open up 😂 and tbh haru gives me groomer vibes
