I like this scanner, but now every time the scanner or computer goes into sleep mode, when I try to scan I get the exclamation light. I have to turn off and back on the scanner to scan again. It is pretty past, I do like that.

How can a team of users use this scanner in my small office which would be connected to office wifi. Can each user simply walk to the scanner place their document and press the button to magically have the searchable pdf in a folder in their computer.. how will the scanner know which user it is?

IT would be great if it worked with the wireless scanner ES-500W ! Unfortunately it does not support the scanner buttons, and your employees are not able to help. Instead, Mr. Matt S. working in Canada as so called "advanced level support staff" recommended to return the product if the wireless scanning does not work. His colleague Mr. Curtis G. told me "Sorry, we have no futher fix for this issue". This was my first and last purchase from this company !

Quick question - Love Epson scanners. This is my second Epson scanner. I also own the GT S50. I recognize the ES-500W scanner creates its own wifi signal. #Awesome. Is there a way to connect this to my personal home wifi signal? I have a MacBook Pro.

Jason Silagi I called Epson and they helped me connect the scanner to my own WiFi. But then later, I saw where I had passed over the instructions to do this, in the guide provided with the scanner. 😬😂

boyshanks Yep, I got it connected to my router by pressing the WPS button on the router, and putting the scanner in WPS connection mode. They found each other, and I was able to scan wirelessly to my laptop when connected to the network. Thanks!

You can connect the es-500w to your home WiFi but by the time you try following Epson's documentation you'll want to scratch your eyes out with a popsicle stick. They've made it incredibly complex (granted, I didn't try WPS since this was a work install, not for home) and it's far easier to just connect via USB. Makes my eyes water just remembering the days and days I spent trying to make the scanner do what the documentation said it should be doing.

How do I set up for 1) switch between usb or wifi? 2) Need to use this in my car (I have the powersource planned out already) but need to use this either with usb or with hotspot but the epson es-500w only wants to recognize my home wifi.
