Arroyo One Dam Improvement Project

EPWater is working to maximize storm protection for El Pasoans while minimizing the impact to open space. Stormwater engineering is taking an innovative approach to a project at the Arroyo One Dam, located in the western foothills of the Franklin Mountains.
Crews are using chain link material known as gabion baskets, filling them with large rocks and placing them within the dam to help slow the velocity of stormwater coming down the mountain.
