Equation of Time Model 22 Deck Watch by RGM

The Equation of Time Model 22 Deck watch is an homage to the original deck watch produced by Hamilton for the allied fleet during the 20th century. This watch is part of a secondary line of watches designed and assembled by RGM watches of Mt Joy, PA. This is a more accessible way of acquiring a piece of modern American horology.

When I started collecting, I wanted an American watch, in these days , not an easy feat. I researched and came up with the RGM brand. I did manage to find a Sportster, and I'm really enjoying it as a part of my collection. RGM has an interesting history and I really enjoy my eatch..

Slight correction the watch in the box is a marine chronometer what you have bought is a deck watch. The marine chronometer is built to much tighter standards. WW2 US navy standards for marine chronometers was a second and a half per day. And they had to be this accurate because it was a navigation tool. The deck watches would be worn by the crew and they were built to what we now call cosc certification which is -4 to +6 a day. And they would set their watches to the marine chronometer and that is how you get ship time.

Born and raised in 717 I always prefer to support locaL business. I do love RGM, however, the problem with spending that same amount of money on an RGM as I spent on my JLC is that I can drive down to Govsberg, and they will buy my JLC from me for a price I can cross check across the entire world....can't do that with an RGM. So....next time I save 5K+ for a watch, I'm gonna have a real issue to say the least. Nice video, little long

I think that saying its an "American" watch without mentioning the ETA movement is Swiss, is a bit disingenuous, IMO
