Equine Vet Administers Haunch Wound Repair To Arabian Yearling Via Buttons Tension Sutures

Medical Procedure = Viewer Discretion Advised… Doc Jenni tends to an adorable yearling who cut his bottom open. She fixes the wound with a tension relieving technique she likes to use which is “just a bunch of buttons” as she says and this technique allows her to put a drain in it. Apparently the yearling cut himself on a little bolt. After cleaning up the wound she applies Lidocaine to numb the area before applying the drain then beginning her sutures with the buttons. Doc Jenni says he should recover just fine!

As a crafter & horse lover, this checked both boxes. I love using buttons in craft projects, but never in my wildest dreams, had I imagined buttons being used in suturing wounds for my horses. Not sure if the button trick was the doc's own ingenuity or shr learned it from someone else, but either way, it's very clever.
