Just the info I needed. Thank you for having beginners in mind while filming this video.

Tucker is so compliant. Reminds me of my childhood and "dressing" my dog, or my sister "dressing" her dolls! I think Tucker should get a reward for his participation in this exercise, including a hug!

Watching you from my bed where I am recovering from fractured sacrum caused by spooked rearing horse 😮💨. Probably done with horses but I think I will watch you any way cause I think you are pretty great. Getting old really sucks

The part about them having individual needs is so important. My TB is not clipped and has been in medium weight rugs for at least 6 weeks now while the other horses there have already been clipped at least once and are still in light rugs.

Great video! I’m rounding the corner on 1 year as a horse owner and have finally settled into a blanketing routine. My TB mare gets one at “feels like” 40 or below, but my woolly little mini rarely needs one. Thank you Carmella (and Tucker and Yoshi!) for your insights and knowledge! I’m teaching my mini to drive, so once Yoshi gets up to weight and fully healthy I’d love to see training videos on this! I’m getting all my insights from KZbin, but it’s been so fun!

Thank you! I know to blanket a horse but your videos are very helpful! You give me little tips even when I've been riding for a while.

Interesting! I always put the right legstrap on the left ring and vice versa. So they cross as well, just in another way. What is the advantage of doing it the way you showed? Less movement of the straps?

This was posted 43 seconds ago😳 My one horse is a Norwegian fjord (and a fluffy one with a thick winter coat) and my other is a an Icelandic horse. So I don't really need to blanket them, but thank you for posting this to those who do need it.

We just got a fjord, the previous owner shaved him an blanketed him so we're a bit confused what to do honestly :D

Wish I could have had this video last year, but I could do it with my eyes closed now. I still watched the video, and you did a great job explaining everything!

You have a VA Shenandoah valley shirt. I live in that area too. Do you think you’d ever have like a KZbin meet up or event or seminar or some kind of official gathering? I’d be interested!!

I was actually taught to cross the back leg straps. I think we all have slightly different methods for them.

I just made a comment about this too! Glad I’m not the only one who crosses the leg straps

do you have any blankets without clips and just straps in the front?
@JOXGIRL12 жыл бұрын
How I remove my horse’s blanket is: standing in his left side I fold the length of the blanket up onto his back. I move to the right and fold the right side up onto his back. Then I fold the blanket up into threes by starting at the tail and up towards his head and remove. Does this make sense?

I have so much trouble snapping the belly straps cause of that little round plastic thing I can't get the hook through.

I just bought a new horse. He is outside 24:7. I cannot visit him everyday, do I absolutely need to blanket him? If I do, can I leave it on for multiple days? He’s a tad underweight.
