$40K for that little pony?!!! That's beyond insane, it's just stupid. Some people got more money than sense. FYI, I watch auctions all the time and prices are dropping big time! People are selling because of price of hay, feed, etc. Keeping horses getting very expensive and jobs uncertain. Ranchers and farmers cleaning out their barns and fields, so sad. No sales could very likely wish they'd taken the price later on but I think prices continue to drop, for now.

Hobbling is cruel. You’re right about the pony being too small for that weight, it’s shocking what people put horses through. The bay at 8:53 is drugged. The Dun at 12:18 looks like they have EPM.

Shoulder replacements? On a horse?? IF such a thing were to occur---to continue riding the horse would be surely be cruel.
@nogames89826 ай бұрын
I have never heard of such a thing. Not saying it hasn’t been done but I’ve never heard of it. And bilateral? And the majority of the weight being on the front legs? I don’t know. Sounds fishy to me. and it would have to cost tens of thousands of dollars.
@trolloftheyear79635 ай бұрын
You can't replace a horses shoulder. It simply will not heal like a humans shoulder because it is weight bearing. If you put the horse in a sling to take weight off the front end, then the weight shifts to the back and the horse will probably Founder on the back hooves. Then you have a whole new really bad problem. That is why horses with a broken shoulder are put down. No amount of surgery can mend them before they get laminitis. Sad but true.

I'm surprised you couldn't tell why the nice horses weren't bid up high! That palomino you liked, could hardly canter, the big 17hh paint was clearly foot sore in the front..granted a few looked okay like the blue roan, and the bay near the end, but most of them 🤷♀️

As far as the prices, I think it's the economy and the price of feed.

Adopt, please. 🙏🏻 There are so many beautiful horses in rescue that have been saved from slaughter who are desperate for loving, life long homes. They’re well trained, vetted and wonderful companions. That’s your first point of call for a beautiful friend.

@tanyabrown98396 ай бұрын
I learnt to ride when a child on little ponies which used to at times nip and would pig root. I think the issue was the ponies were spoilt and just not taught they shouldn't be doing that. (used to do things like snatch my food from my hand too). Whoever brought that pony is probably going to be very disappointed to find out how it sometimes reacts.

I hate horse auctions mainly because many owners are just looking to get rid of their horses, and many of the horses have underlying issues that are not mentioned at first. Who the hell let such a small pony pull 2 people? That pony shouldn't even be ridden by a child at that size.
@wildedibles8196 ай бұрын
My 11hh pony is pretty fat I mean that by muscle too 😂he's thick so they can take up leg that way He's big enough to hold me no problem I only sat on him once but my legs did not hang that low I like being closer to the ground and with my back problems I might not ever like riding that much so he works for me I'm trying to train him to pull he might know already

Hobbles are fine if used right. i dont exactly agree with having them on a horse alone in a stall tho only when your with the horse. say if your horse has a problem trying to rush when you open the gate to their paddock and they just want to rush in or rush at a horse hobbles are good to keep both you can the horse safe that way. but i would not have them on a horse if its alone in a stall
