Thanks for the series. Another thing about using beakers it’s less of a chance of it shattering. I’ve used measuring cups in the past to melt butters and emulsifying products in a pot with water and the heat was on medium and the glass shattered on the bottom of the measuring cup and all of the product I was melting spilled into the water I was heating. So since then I starting using beakers because of its great heating ability and no glass has shattered and also I can put it on a cooktop without putting it in a pan of water to heat up. Can’t wait to see the rest of your series!!

@TaraLeee
@TaraLeee 5 жыл бұрын
glad you are looking forward to it :) a lot of my product it made to order, or it sells out pretty quickly if I do have a small inventory. I typically just write down in a note book when I make something. & same with testing formulations. I will write out a formulation, test it and just keep adjusting it until I get what I like then write the final formulation, that I'm happy with, in another notebook. lol not the most "professional" process, but it's just me making everything, so as long as I can read it, that works for me. lol

This is a bit off topic and didn't know where to post this question but i recently made a hair conditioner with cetyl alcohol and btms 25 i loved the wah it came out except it was a bit thick 7% btms and 2% cetyl and it was not very moiturizing onve rinsed out. What ingredient would you recomment as a deep moisturizer and how can i make it not so thick? Other ingredients were glycerin 3%, aloe vera juice 8%, pantheon 3%, silk powder 1.3%, essentil oil 1%, dimethicone 6%, and germal plus 0.05%.. Hope you can help me out.. P. I love this series! Can you cover FDA naming and what we can’t make info a lil more , I watched those videos and read some of the articles on the fda website but still a bit confused on some parts. (Like how do you name products that are acne fighting, stress free or calming without it being considered a drug, and are we able to use hemp oil (I only found articles on cbd oil or thc), or any other legal stuff that we need)

Can you pls do a q&a video, and also a seperate vid on how you process orders start to finish? Like how do you know when youve got an order, do you get a notification on your phone or sign in to etsy then theyve got a little notification bar in the corner that shows how many orders you have? Then how much of lets say for ex face scrub do you make? Or do you have some premade in a jar? And then i already saw your packaging video but from where do you print out shipping labels like where is it located on etsy or? And is all the info already written on there or do you have to fill some stuff out? Sorry for all the questions lol just need to know
@TaraLeee
@TaraLeee 5 жыл бұрын
I will definitely do a Q&A soon. as for making a video on my order process. have you watched this video? it might help clear up more of your questions - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2HNZmR7hsmZfqc I talk about how etsy shipping works in that video. Also yes, you receive a notification on your phone when you receive a new order and you have a section on etsy called "orders and shipping" where you can see all your orders you have received along with an option to print shipping labels. I have products pre made and I also make some to order if I don't have any pre made. I will my "x" amount of product, maybe enough to fill like 6 containers, then when I run out, I make more when I receive an order for that product I'm out of. I the video I linked to I explain how to purchase shipping labels and how etsy shipping works. hope this helped.

your beakers look so cleannnn and brand new. how do you wash it after using wax? :)
@TaraLeee
@TaraLeee 5 жыл бұрын
I have never experienced wax really being stuck to them. I don't use bees wax, I sometimes use other waxes to make deodorants but the wax is mixed in with the product so none is left over on the container. & the same goes with any emulsifier I use. It just mixes in with my product and none is left on the beaker because it is completely melted and emulsified into the product.

Could I use an immersion blender to make bentonite clay mask?? Because clay reacts to metal and the immersion blend has metal blades. What do I do?
@TaraLeee
@TaraLeee 5 жыл бұрын
I don't think using an immersion blender for that is a good idea. not only because of the metal, but immersion blenders work best in liquid products. since bentonite clay is a powder it's best to mix by hand. an immersion blender or hand mixer would most likely cause the powder to go everywhere!
@sincerelyshanique2228

crock pot over a stove top its way more safer and less items to have . if I get a stove top that means I need a pan every single time and a pan that fits what I need . a crock pot is big and it heats up there's so many different type of crock pots way better than a stove top

I don't even own a microwave, so I've never tried it. but I agree with what Miss. T's Journal said. It would probably over heat or just not work as well.
@LovelessYayaoi
@LovelessYayaoi 5 жыл бұрын
Microwaves don't give you the even, controlled heat that using a stovetop can. However, I personally DO use a microwave for some things that I need to simply warm up or melt and not worry about reaching a particular temperature with. I would recommend using small bursts and keeping an eye on whatever you're microwaving if you want to use that method.
@sassyrarebreed9914
@sassyrarebreed9914 4 жыл бұрын
Microwaves also change and deplete the benefits of the ingredients in your using. If you're going to make natural products you do not want to use a microwave. He also do not want to strain anything through pantyhose just FYI I keep seeing that all over the place in comment sections in thats not good. They're full of chemicals flame retardant chemicals also.

Of the cream? Thanks looking forward for your respond or you can give me your email so we talk better place 🙏🙏
@TaraLeee
@TaraLeee 5 жыл бұрын
I am going to take a wild guess and assume it is the optiphen. Also are you using optiphen plus or just optiphen? because optiphen is for oil based products only and optiphen plus is for water based products (which lotion is a water based product) also if you are using optiphen plus, it has a huge tendency of separating emulsions. I noticed some people have better luck with it than others. I made 5 different lotions with it and 4 emulsified fine, but the 5th one didn't. so I sat there for like 20 minutes just mixing and mixing, eventually it emulsified. so I personally don't prefer optiphen plus. I do like optiphen for my oil based products. but I prefer using leucidal sf complete or liquid germall plus over optiphen plus. ps. I do know I have been using optiphen plus in my videos lately. but it is because I bought some to try and now I just want to use it up so it doesn't go to waist.
