This was very informative. Newly diagnosed RA. It’s a new world for me and your video will save me months and years of frustration. Thank you.

My old manual can opener has a bottle opener I use to release the vacuum of glass jars. The metal lid's center pops up and then it's easy to twist off the cap.

My Kitchen Mama opener works on pop top cans, too! No sharp edges or lip for food to hide behind or cut my rubber scraper. My 😺🐈 appreciate every morsel and less rinsing before the recycle bin! me: hEDS with hand/arm pain & reduced strength

After some research I bought myself a plumbing tool called “belt wrench”. Works like magic for opening jars. Very comfortable handle. Not limited to specific lid diameters. For ultimate comfort and safety I actually bought a second one for holding the jar while twisting the lid. I might probably start a jar opening business now 🤔 … Seriously, belt wrench is an awesome tool. Highly recommend 👍

@@msr1116 I bought the cheapest yellow plastic one. Sturdy enough and doesn’t look too brutal. Purchased online (don’t remember which shop exactly)

I personally have crippled hands as well as wrists so the jar opener that has different sizes didn’t work for me. I ended up hurting my wrist trying to use it so I just wanted to make people aware if they also have wrist issues. I have a big electric jar opener that takes up counter space but I’m going to get the small one you suggested since it can go with me if I need it. I had tried a couple that were terrible. Need to get that knife. Thank you.

This video almost brought me to tears. I have radiation brachial plexus neuropathy. I’ve been struggling with my hand for over a year and have resigned myself to not being able to do a lot of tasks. My question is how do I find a good occupational therapist? What questions do I need to ask?

I'm so glad it was helpful! As far a good OT, I recommend reaching out to your PCP or a hand specialist to see if they have any recommendations for OT's in your area.
