When Senior investment banker Naomi Bishop (Anna Gunn) is passed over for a promotion at her firm, she fights for the opportunity to take a start-up public, hoping this promising IPO will secure her a place at the firm’s highest level. But when an employee at the start-up raises questions about a possible crack in the company’s walls, Naomi must decide whether to investigate rumors that may compromise the deal, or push forward with the confidence her superiors expect.
Soon Naomi finds herself tangled in a web of deception and office politics and begins to question if there is anyone she can trust. As the IPO draws closer, Naomi sees that the choices she has made for her career have left her very much alone. Forced to reexamine the rules of the cutthroat world she has always loved she finds herself in a fight for her very survival.

I don't know, I actually haven't seen any movies like this lol. But my guess is it symbolizes a delicate balance, risk, elicits emotions of tension, and it's in the shape of a skyscraper (i.e. expensive, large, business building).

Is actually quite good, a solid casting wise at least. The plot has been explored before in Wall Street, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Money Monster among others. having the film lead by female characters puts a new spin on the issues. The end was a bit disappointing, I expected a last moment twist bringing a better less bitter end to the characters.

Agree. Erin should had been busted along with Michael. Than Naomi cam quit and start her own company. In the tv series White Collar, the devious characters would not get away so easily even if years passed by.

i liked the ending, it was her own fault. and that founder was so damn delousional yet she still acted as if everything was fine, when they werent. she couldnt handle it and she couldnt handle the pressure. if she panics and cant handle a situation, then her time is up. she deserved it. but that company was a bust with too big of a ego of an founder, who didnt live in reality. all he wanted to do was fuck naomi and hearing big numbers, he didnt even care about the company.

That's a terrible financial movie. Horrendous! Poorly developed, most of the time I didn't know what the heck it had to do with finance. It left me under the impression that women only succeed, professionaly, because they sleep with people of their "professional" interest. "The Accountant" and "Limitless" are way more accurate on a financial perspective. Also, it's more about the freaking start-up and the main character's affairs than about Wall Street. Wouldn't recommend it at all.
