Please do Bojack Horseman. Here are some scenes you can react to. Keeping it vague to avoid spoilers. S1E1: Bojack is hospitalized after a panic attack (I would like to hear your thoughts on the doctor's advice to Bojack) S1E11: A shady doctor provides study drugs. S3E5: Character goes to the hospital for a wrist injury, and finds out she's pregnant S3E6: Character is put through an absurd rigamarole when she goes to get an abortion. S4E4: Character is trying to get pregnant and goes to a fertility doctor. S4E10: Character is hospitalized after an overdose. S5E09: Bojack loses his prescription pain pills. Among other things he tries to get more from the doctor in S1E11, only to find out he's changed his ways. S6E06: A absurdist episode centered around an organ transplant.

I grew up in the mountains and never really suffered from asthma, but I was a camp counselor and I had a set of parents that did not inform me their son had need of an inhailer because they did not want him to be left out of all the fun camp activities. So during a hike, he went into a severe asthma attack, and I had to provide breathing once, Sent my CIT or counselor in training down the hill, and do a fireman fire man carry with this poor kid And have my other Kids in my group follow me back down the trail we were hiking, and send both my CIT who apparently had asthma and the kid to the emergency room. Both of them were OK. Then I returned back to camp, to help console the children and Had a flood of emotions hit me by the time everything calmed down and alnoe. I was only 15 years old at that time

The worst thing to have while donating blood is a panic attack because panic can make you feel like you're about to pass out. I had one right before they were going to put the needle in, so I knew it wasn't from donating. I almost passed out from donating once, there was a darkness moving in from the outside of my vision. That's how I learned to not donate blood while on a restrictive diet.
@novanettle7497
@novanettle7497 3 жыл бұрын
I almost passed out once while donating blood. I had donated before but I had recently moved so it was a new clinic. They were kind of busy and there was a lot of movement in the room, so I got a bit nervous. I'm not to sensitive but the needle felt more uncomfortable and "pinchy" than normal. It was also my first time donating in the summer - the weather was hot and I was probably a bit dehydrated. I started feeling a little bit dizzy and nausious while in the chair, so I made sure to get up slowly after I was done. It didn't help though, as I got to the fridge to grab a sandwich and some juice, I broke out in a cold sweat and my vision started to go. I wobbled away to a table to sit down and put my head against the table (if I pass out, maybe I won't fall to the floor). I have probably never been so close to passing out without actually passing out. If I did, it was only for a second or so. A fellow donor saw me and told me I was absolutely white and should lie on the floor. But I was a bit embarrassed by the whole thing and just slurred "thanks, but I'm fine. This is fine. I just need a minute". With my head still on the table I drank some juice as my head slowly stopped spinning. I would have probably been better off lying in the floor, but I was committed to the table now. The juice and sandwich helped but I felt a bit shaky and weak for the rest of the day. I'm pretty sure it was due to dehydration, so now I drink a good half litre of one of those health drinks with electrolytes before I donate blood. Eating and sleeping well is good too.

I love how you can see he actually got worried when Rudy was super short of breath, his doctor instincts totally kicked in. Also that part when Bob's donating blood and he rips off the line I can so relate, I had surgery and when I was ready to get dressed for some dumb reason the nurses wouldn't take off the Line even though the bag was already empty so I had to change with that still in and ofc I couldn't get my arm through the sleeve. When they finally removed it and told me to put pressure where the needle was I didn't do it long enough cuz I just wanted to put on my shirt correctly and yes indeed, it was like a hose.

I love in the asthma episode how Louise is like "oh what you afraid he is gonna breathe too well" when Bob asks how to use the inhaler because one time when I was little, I asked my aunt something about if I should use my inhaler because I couldn't tell if I was having an attack starting and her exact response was "take it just in case, I mean you can't breathe too well right" 🤣🤣🤣 So any time I start to feel my chest tighten now I always remember that and know that the anxiety side effects of the inhaler can't kill me but an attack can so better be a bit anxious then alot weezy

you get patients like that. i had a patient, that as an RN of 6 years, it took me 45 minutes to get an IV set up, because their veins were just...not where they should be, or seem to be. I've also had patients who just...blew their veins out despite all precautions. that always sucks, because it can happen to the most experienced nurses and a lot of new nurses freak out, thinking they fucked up.

When I was 4, they needed to test my blood before an operation, and the nurse failed to find a vein like 8 times! My mom, standing there, just looked at me eyes full of tears but not crying, amaze that I was holding on. The nurse then called on the head nurse passing by for help and she just redoo the tourniquet , took the needle, jab in in so smoothly I didn't feel pain at all and blood just filled the proper vial. My mom later described my expression as this; "he smiled at the blood and the head nurse before turning to the other with a 'Was it that hard?' expression on his face, didn't say a word beyond thank you when it was done." She fully expected me to break out crying but for some reason I didn't.

Dr. ER, There is a Netflix series called "Travelers" and in the show there is a LOT of medicines and practices that are of futuristic technology. What's your take on, for instance, a trained professional doing a minor surgical procedure on one's self?

Travelers is an amazing show. So pissed they canceled it though... they always cancel great sci fi shows without giving them an ending.

Not a doc, but it happens, and not just for minor procedures. There was a doctor in, I think, the '80s at an Antarctic research station who developed appendicitis during the winter storm season. They couldn't get him out or anyone else in within the timeframe his illness imposed, so he had to remove his own appendix. Can't have been fun.

I have rolling blood veins. It’s always a pain because I will walk up to the nurse, tell them, “I have rolling veins, be EXTRA careful.” Point out a vein that is practically on the surface, then they go for EVERY OTHER spot on my arm. They jab me, going in and out with the same needle (not supposed to do that btw). Then give up and use an MRI on the back of my hand. Then I’m left with a baseball sized bruise for a couple of weeks.

My husband has, I would say, pretty severe asthma. Uses his rescue inhaler 2-3 waking hours (yes, more than prescribed). While he’s also on various medications in addition to the rescue inhaler. I don’t think it’s going to get any better, unfortunately.

5:36 One time when I was little (I think I either got food poisoned or a stomach bug) I had to go to the ER to get fluids and they just couldn't find a vein. They had to stick a needle on my two arms and both hands before it worked.

Rudy could be hiking with Bob. Looks like a mountainous area based on the animation. Don’t know how high in altitude they are, but rule of thumb, the higher the altitude, the lower the air pressure. Lower air pressure means lower oxygen levels. Professional mountaineers know it, pilots know it, but not Rudy.

It's actually a school field trip to something like a museum. It's a closed "jungle expedition"-type area Louise and Rudy snuck into and Bob (parent chaperon) followed.

When I get sick my veins roll. It's a real pain in the ass when they're trying to stick an IV in you. Then they gave up and put an IVAD in my chest. The ER nurses seemed happy about it :D

I usually get bloodwork to this day, 6 years after I got diagnosed with my condition. But when I was 8 years old after being diagnosed, I had to get stuck 8 times in one night because they couldn't find the vein for an IV. I only started panicking after the 3rd one which is why it was so hard for them. But honestly I think it created some sort of trauma because IVs seem to hurt way more now, even though when I was 8, I did it no problem. So yeah it's honestly the worst to get stuck many times

You should really react to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Not only are there some hilarious medical scenes, but there are even medical issue themed musical numbers (and all the musical numbers are actually the main character, who has BPD, having dissociative episodes). Some numbers you may enjoy: "I Gave You A UTI" (and the follow-up scene where she ends up in the hospital because of it), "A Diagnosis", "My Sperm is Healthy", "The Miracle of Birth", "Itchy Vagina Metaphor", "I'm Not Sad, You're Sad" (which is the most realistic bpd spiral I've ever seen on tv), and "Anti-Depressants Are So Not A Big Deal". There's also a ton of hospital stuff, with the main character ending up with a kidney infection (due to the aforementioned UTI), Paula having a heart attack and not knowing, and Rebecca overdosing.

My first time getting poked by a needle that I remember, I was in 4th grade (I've been in college for a few years now), and I was sick for a few days. I went to the doctor, and they wanted to take my blood. Problem was, they couldn't find a blood vessel, even with me squeezing a stress ball. They wound up stabbing my arm over and over. After my attempted murder, I was seeing stars and was really dizzy.

Bobs Burgers and Simpsons are my favorite adult cartoons! Also about the part where the doc kept sticking Bob over and over with the needle , that has happened to my grandfather and I . They never used a different needle . Also I hate when getting blood drawn because some nurses will bruise the heck out of ya . I like the nurses who don't leave bruises after drawing blood or putting a IV in me lol. Also I love watching your videos and I wish I had a doctor that was cool like you :)

Hey so I think the medical world need a tutorial about how to deal with a false eye trama. When I go to the er there are many people who don't know what to look for and what to do I always have to see a professional. If you know about the difficulty of dealing with a injury to the eye socket of someone who has had their eye removed can you possibly do a refresher course fornit
