Please do Bojack Horseman. Here are some scenes you can react to. Keeping it vague to avoid spoilers. S1E1: Bojack is hospitalized after a panic attack (I would like to hear your thoughts on the doctor's advice to Bojack) S1E11: A shady doctor provides study drugs. S3E5: Character goes to the hospital for a wrist injury, and finds out she's pregnant S3E6: Character is put through an absurd rigamarole when she goes to get an abortion. S4E4: Character is trying to get pregnant and goes to a fertility doctor. S4E10: Character is hospitalized after an overdose. S5E09: Bojack loses his prescription pain pills. Among other things he tries to get more from the doctor in S1E11, only to find out he's changed his ways. S6E06: A absurdist episode centered around an organ transplant.

I grew up in the mountains and never really suffered from asthma, but I was a camp counselor and I had a set of parents that did not inform me their son had need of an inhailer because they did not want him to be left out of all the fun camp activities. So during a hike, he went into a severe asthma attack, and I had to provide breathing once, Sent my CIT or counselor in training down the hill, and do a fireman fire man carry with this poor kid And have my other Kids in my group follow me back down the trail we were hiking, and send both my CIT who apparently had asthma and the kid to the emergency room. Both of them were OK. Then I returned back to camp, to help console the children and Had a flood of emotions hit me by the time everything calmed down and alnoe. I was only 15 years old at that time

The worst thing to have while donating blood is a panic attack because panic can make you feel like you're about to pass out. I had one right before they were going to put the needle in, so I knew it wasn't from donating. I almost passed out from donating once, there was a darkness moving in from the outside of my vision. That's how I learned to not donate blood while on a restrictive diet.
@novanettle74973 жыл бұрын
I almost passed out once while donating blood. I had donated before but I had recently moved so it was a new clinic. They were kind of busy and there was a lot of movement in the room, so I got a bit nervous. I'm not to sensitive but the needle felt more uncomfortable and "pinchy" than normal. It was also my first time donating in the summer - the weather was hot and I was probably a bit dehydrated. I started feeling a little bit dizzy and nausious while in the chair, so I made sure to get up slowly after I was done. It didn't help though, as I got to the fridge to grab a sandwich and some juice, I broke out in a cold sweat and my vision started to go. I wobbled away to a table to sit down and put my head against the table (if I pass out, maybe I won't fall to the floor). I have probably never been so close to passing out without actually passing out. If I did, it was only for a second or so. A fellow donor saw me and told me I was absolutely white and should lie on the floor. But I was a bit embarrassed by the whole thing and just slurred "thanks, but I'm fine. This is fine. I just need a minute". With my head still on the table I drank some juice as my head slowly stopped spinning. I would have probably been better off lying in the floor, but I was committed to the table now. The juice and sandwich helped but I felt a bit shaky and weak for the rest of the day. I'm pretty sure it was due to dehydration, so now I drink a good half litre of one of those health drinks with electrolytes before I donate blood. Eating and sleeping well is good too.

It took me the second try to donate blood because the first time I was shaking too much and they didn’t let me on the second try I was relaxed once the needle went in

The nurse then called on the head nurse passing by for help and she just redoo the tourniquet , took the needle, jab in in so smoothly I didn't feel pain at all and blood just filled the proper vial. My mom later described my expression as this; "he smiled at the blood and the head nurse before turning to the other with a 'Was it that hard?' expression on his face, didn't say a word beyond thank you when it was done." She fully expected me to break out crying but for some reason I didn't.

It’s always a pain because I will walk up to the nurse, tell them, “I have rolling veins, be EXTRA careful.” Point out a vein that is practically on the surface, then they go for EVERY OTHER spot on my arm. They jab me, going in and out with the same needle (not supposed to do that btw). Then give up and use an MRI on the back of my hand. Then I’m left with a baseball sized bruise for a couple of weeks.

my recommendation is "the knick".... first episode, first scene should give you enough for a whole video 😜

Bobs Burgers and Simpsons are my favorite adult cartoons! Also about the part where the doc kept sticking Bob over and over with the needle , that has happened to my grandfather and I . They never used a different needle . Also I hate when getting blood drawn because some nurses will bruise the heck out of ya . I like the nurses who don't leave bruises after drawing blood or putting a IV in me lol. Also I love watching your videos and I wish I had a doctor that was cool like you :)

I use to work for a community blood center, I've seen football players fall out at the sight of a needle, seen an arterial stick, had a guy have a heart attack, plenty of people just passed out. Loved that's Job, was a great time. !!

5:52 I try to hydrate well when I'm set to get blood work, but it never works. I'm at the point that I tell the phlebotomist to just go straight to the hand instead of inside elbow.

I use compression bands for my wrists. The pressure alleviates the pain and after a week the buildup recedes and the nerve is no longer stressed.

You should really react to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Not only are there some hilarious medical scenes, but there are even medical issue themed musical numbers (and all the musical numbers are actually the main character, who has BPD, having dissociative episodes). Some numbers you may enjoy: "I Gave You A UTI" (and the follow-up scene where she ends up in the hospital because of it), "A Diagnosis", "My Sperm is Healthy", "The Miracle of Birth", "Itchy Vagina Metaphor", "I'm Not Sad, You're Sad" (which is the most realistic bpd spiral I've ever seen on tv), and "Anti-Depressants Are So Not A Big Deal". There's also a ton of hospital stuff, with the main character ending up with a kidney infection (due to the aforementioned UTI), Paula having a heart attack and not knowing, and Rebecca overdosing.

As someone with astma, I have to say it was pretty accurately portrayed here. I also have to brag a bit and share that I recently donated blood for the 60th time :) If you are able to, give it a try! It's not too uncomfortable and the key is to look away and think of something else. I've only passed out once of all the times I donated.

I remember drawing for a whole week and I felt my hands getting stiff and claw-like. It went away after a while, so nothing serious but I always think about that when Bob's hands are messed up

I'd love to see you do something from Family Guy -- they cover so many different types of injuries associated with lack of knowledge; peter making a kerosene energy drink, going blind from nickel poisoning, chris having a teste ascend into his body, confiding this in peter at work, and having his father file a sexual harassment lawsuit against him for it 😂😆

Ugh, last time I had to have a blood test, my body refused to let my blood go, so they had to have three goes to suck enough of the stuff out, one in each inner-elbow, and a butterfly needle on the back of my left hand, an utter nightmare for me as I HATE needles!!! :S
