I don't see meanness in this video clip from anyone. Dr. Weaver took charge because that's her job. She overrode Dr. Lewis because her judgement was, frankly, more informed and it was Dr. Weaver's call to make, not Dr. Lewis'. Edited to add Dr. Weaver gave Dr. Lewis considerable latitude to make the call herself and Dr. Lewis refused, so Dr. Weaver did her job.

The only reason she ever went after Dr. Lewis in the very beginning was to attempt to push her delusions of grandeur onto everyone.

Sorry to say something that s not politically correct, but Kerry Weaver was just an nastyand mean a character as Romano. Romano may have been mean to his fellow workers and even sexually harrassed the Females in the place, but at least he seem to care about his patients. Kerry was really Mean, but when it was revealed (or they went with that Story line) that her character was a lesbian- they had to make her character sympathetic.

Weaver always could have a compassionate side with patients and co-workers but she was always careful and political - not an unreasonable strategy for a lesbian woman alone in a male dominated environment . Romano was more selfish as well as a bigot racist misogynist

I don’t agree with that - Kerry was very often compassionate and caring towards patients, particularly children, right from the start. Sometimes surprisingly so.
