Thanks for your honesty. From what I can see, they went with a crazy premium M390 steel that makes any knife twice as expensive and slapped it on plastic shear handles, thinking that the properties which bring so much performance in knife-cutting environments would translate into EMS applications. They wanted to compete with another piece of useless show-off gear called the Raptor by Leatherman. Beyond the cool effect, these Raptor shears cost 69 bucks and barely do more than a $10 full-size North American rescue pair. But it looks cool when it's folded up and, you know, you can break a window like a hero with them or cut rings off of victims' fingers How many times either action will be required for the usual social media expert ex-whatever or the EMS guy who's selling the gear or getting a kickback, let alone for your average Joe consumer?

Totally agree. I rock a pair of North American Rescue shears at work, nothing beats the performance or the price.

Thanks for this review. I just got an ad for the shears on IG, and before opening the page I figured if they were under $30 shipped I’d get a pair. But seeing as to how they want $40 for the regular edition and $60 for the “pro” edition, I’d figure I’d watch a review. Now I am confident my $5 shears are enough, and if I need an O2 key I’ll just keep one on me.

I think my XShears are worth the price, just lost em though and almost bought these to try out.
