Erandaam Chanakyan is a series that deals with the relevance of VEDAS to Modern Science.
This series was made in the year 1999 and is still relevant. It is one of a kind series that is set both in the Agraharm and City.
The serial is directed by Bombay Chanakya along with the story, screenplay and the dialogues.
The serial was produced by Min Bimbangal with Geetha Kailasam as the producer.
The story revolves around a small boy who took vengeance in trying to destroy the ego and cruelty of a man who was responsible for the death of his father. The theme was taken from the story of Chanakya ,who took his revenge and destroyed the king named Nanda, for insulting and humiliating him.
The cast includes famous actors like Venu Arvind, Chethan, Mohan Ram, Dr.Sharmila, Bhanumathi, Meera Krishnan, Bombay Gnanam, Vijayasarathy, AnithaMathews, Sangeetha and others.
The serial had a pleasant title song sung by Unnikrishnan, with the lyrics written by Dr. Kiruthaya and music composed by Ramani Bharadwaj. The re-recording is by Rehaan.
The camera work was handled by Raghunatha Reddy, who had done the best job.
The serial revolved around the backdrop of the cultures and traditions of the Brahmin community. Venu Arvind as usual had performed with his excellent acting skills. The role done by Chethan was highly appreciating since it was a different role in his acting career.
The serial had attracted viewers from all communities as it was very interesting and was elaborated in such a way it described and showed the culture of the community. Many scenes and some of their habits were seen only in the movies and serial which was also one of the reasons for the success, as many people liked to watch the life styles of olden days which are history now. Mohanram and Meera Krishna played their roles casually, for which they were very well-known . The child artists too performed their roles naturally. The house they had shown in the serial, the kitchen, the backyard along the village people, made the viewers desire for the olden days. Irandam Chanakyan was one of the serials which portrayed the south Indian culture very clearly.

Dr. Sharmila may be a good actress but her views are all against Dharma. For her, "casteism" is a reality whereas the most casteism is borne only by the General Category. She also generalizes the existence of discrimination against women in Indian society whereas they are the most empowered with laws protecting women more so than ever. I have seen all her anti-Indian rants on reddit and twitter, also on KZbin while her hate messages are used against Brahmanas. She is a pakka DMK. While Brahmins don't get chances in any field thanks to dmk interferences, these numbskulls do in productions by Brahmins. Why Dr. Sharmila's mentor is the famous Balachander...... Why do we grow worms ?

May at the time of making this serial Dr. Sharmila might not be this much anti hindu. In the present time brahmins do not discriminate other caste as that was existing some fifty or sixty years ago. Dr. Sharmila has married a dalit politician as her third husband and she is trying to gaim political milege by critizising brahmins, hindu Gods etc. Religions like Islam and Christianity too have many discrinating groups and the hindu castes are far better in treating each other compared to the groups in Islam or Christianity. She can have individual thoughts about hindu religion but she should avoid hate comments about hindu religion and hindu traditions

@@krishnanvenkatachalam9795 My entire Agraharam used to welcome even Muslims and Xtians at their homes and till date a woman from the dalit community cooks for us..... Look these are all generalizations. Don't fall for them. Further, our country has temples where only certain communities are allowed. Certain temples of women are allowed and in some men. That is as per aastha. Does this mean "discrimination" ?? Else we need facts from a large sample size of Brahmana families of the time to show : "All other communities were barred from even the basic needs, which is the right of every human being, by Brahmanas". Colonials destroyed civilizations, raped women, culled local fauna etc. Yet no word for them being "casteists" ?? Why our Indians are like this ?

This serial came in 1998. So the main story happened in 1998. There are 2 flashbacks. One in 1980 and other in 1973. In first episode 1980 flashback was shown in which Mahadevan was having daughter. In 1973 episodes He was yet to have a child. You have watch carefully for the captions which is shown at the starting to understand which year.

This Sneha character is highly irritating esp people around her, the way they talk ...can't stand. Unnatural. But other characters are very good in acting, langauge etc.
