Who plays with Divine Intervention ??!? OMG! Is it so bad to lose one time so you have it there as backup? All I saw from your deck is "I won't let you guys play Magic" . Tax them to attack you, make them sacrifice permanents for dealing damage with creatures (The most common way to win by playing Magic) or even Spell Damage, allow them only one spell per turn, abuse "At the Beginning of Each End Step" with an Enchantment printed when EDH was not all that known, and "I won't permit you targeting me" cards. WTF. WHAT IS THIS DECK. Don't you want friends in life????

Blowing up Rhystic Study instead of Luminarch Ascencion = NO. You can still get around those extra cards by paying mana, and those cards need to be cast in order to do something. When your opponent can pump out 4/4 flying angels for 1W at will, however, it's only a matter of time before he overwhelms the board.

I do know, however, that Luminarch Ascension wins games BY ITSELF if left unchecked, while Rhystic Study does not, especially if people pay the extra mana most of the time. You can always get around Study for 1 extra mana. But once the Ascension is online, its pretty much downhill from there for the opponents unless you have removal. Really wrong choice.

That was incredible. Monowhite decks are really difficult to play and require a lot of deckbuilding skills. I wouldnt' have kept a two lander, because mono white always betrays you with draws, but in the end Dean was able to win. I also loved the flavor touch of the fan and the masako.

XD Don't overestimate me either now, the deck basically played itself. The two lander was so risky but with leaning on the fast luminarch it made it worth. This deck is all about the flavor. Check out the decklist in the description if you want!

In fact, my first version of this deck had Eight and a Half tails at the helm! That deck was actually my first commander deck I ever built for myself out of the spares I had. Divine Intervention is a flavor/pet card. I happened to have one in my collection and I can't help but play it. I like having a way of arbitrarily drawing the game in this way though I can't say I've done it too often yet. The decklist is in the description of the video if you wanted to check it out.

Xander didn't resolve his wanderer's cascades correctly. You reveal for the first cascade, resolve it, put cards on the bottom, then resolve the second. Wouldn't change much but it's good to know

Turn two Luminarch Ascension is gross. I'd have milled the Land Tax. That's just a win condition and I shouldn't have to feel bad for denying it. If you're gonna gamble a starting hand on Ascension, that's the risk you're taking. Mono-white may be considered weak, but it can't be allowed to just do that when the counterplay is sitting on the table. (I say this as someone who runs a mono-white deck and wants to build another, probably with the Ascension and maybe even Michiko Konda for Commander)

Victor is a man with a heart. His decision to allow me to have the land tax was truly an act of kindness I will not soon forget. If anything, it's a good move to curry my favor for future games. Turn Two Luminarch is only really dangerous if I'm able to follow up with lands. The series of plays that led to my victory in the end was a display of pure luck. Who knows how I'd fare if the ascension was destroyed AND the tax was milled. Then I'd certainly pose no threat and might have been able to develop my wall with Michiko/Ghostly Prison. Hopefully there will be more chances to explore these different permutations. I highly recommend *fwips fan* MichikOHOHOHOHOHOHO!

Is it just me or was this game really low on the power level scale? I don't mind, just really surprised me to see. All of the decks (with maybe the exception of Erobos) had some jank that really caught me off guard. Again, I'm not upset by seeing more casual decks and I commend any brave deck builders, it just surprised me as this channel usually has some higher power level decks.

It might seem that way. It tends to happen when you can only play one spell a turn, can only draw one card a turn, can't target me, have to pay 2 mana for each creature attacking me and sacrifice a permanent for each source of damage done to me. Granted on the overall, by no means was this a top tier competitive commander game and it might be true that his other videos are sometimes higher in power level than this. *fwips fan* Just remember to never underestimate the power of my prisons! @@DeanJayJackmanJr Well perhaps my biggest concern was the Jhoira deck. Definitely a lot of jank in there, like the manic. On the other end, with your deck, it was the exact opposite. While Jhoira is a powerful commander, with a weak deck, yours was a powerful deck with an underpowered commander. And the dragon tribal for Maelstrom Wanderer was definitely surprising. All in all, I loved seeing the unique takes on the decks (we definitely don't need to see more combo Jhoira decks), I was just surprised at seeing all the powered down stuff show up at once. But it was enjoyable to watch and I won't knock it, especially if you all had fun!

Having rewatched this a few times at this point, I now realize I unfairly targeted Victor after his gracious mercy of not milling away my land tax. He was the very reason why I was able to win because of that play basically. Jolly good fun was had indeed, at least from my perspective >.>... I was having fun being stuck on 2 mana for the first 8 turns lol so they definitely didn't target me down right away. It was by there good grace that I ran away with it. lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Jank is harsh word lol. I like to say I didnt build Jhoira in the degenerate fashion. Plus i built her mostly to shake up the table. Milling throws a lot of strategies off and although the manic scribe was a weird choice to some. It has definitely been the source of a fast clock late game when delirium is in effect in the past and additionally ive played a game where multiple copies of the card were on the field at once by an opponent all with delirium. Makes for a hell of a fun game.
