The screw driver that you use to take the screws in and out is that a regular impact driver? The reason I ask is because I thought that a regular impact driver would have so much power that it would bore out the Phillips screw part of the screw before it starts clicking. If it is a special driver that you are using could you please let me know what sort it is?By the way as usual great video thankyou. 👍

Came across this video to remove the muffler. I just removed the rear covers and went the short route of cutting portions of the housing at the minimum just to access the 2 muffer bols.

My particular sorrow is that the upper boom's cable connection's reciever has rounded out and will not drive anything attached as a lower boom. You can not find a Troybilt replacement upper boom shaft assembly, thus rendering my trimmer and all attachments useless. I think this engineered obsolescence is unconscionable.

I recently performed this job watching you video was very helpful but something when wrong because the trimmer will star up but it I'll cut off when squeezing the trigger and even when left alone idling. Do you have any idea what could be wrong? Any advice will be appreciated.

There are symptoms there that include "Starts but Immediately Dies" or "Runs for a While, Then Dies". You might not have the required gap set properly between the coil and the flywheel. Should be right around 0.020" depending on which model you have. Look it up for the correct gap requirements.

I had just did the exact same thing as in the video and my trimmer still will not work. New engine block, new coil, new plug, new gas. Any ideas?

Short block is 38$ a new trimmer is anywhere from 80 to over a hundred dollars

What he is not mentioning is that with a new short block is that the holes are not tapped and threaded.
