I have used both, the mesh is lighter and cooler but the mesh fabric is scratchy and they use the mesh fabric on the underside of the shoulder straps. I have to wear a T-shirt vs tank, unless I want chaffing on my shoulders. Same goes by the area where babies legs come out. Forget about putting baby in the carrier with just a onesie, it will scratch against their thighs. My son is two, so was able to tell me it hurt as soon as I put him in it. I just had to pull his shorts down to protect his legs, so not too big of a deal but if I had used this for my two daughters, this would have been a different story, since they usually wore bloomers and cute dresses. Hope this helps some decide between the two. If you can get both, do it. If I had to pick just one, definitely the cotton one.

Too bad they don't do the sliders for the front/backwards facing like on the cool mesh, the "buttons" look more of a pain. I don't understand why there is a different in design given its just different fabric

My sister is planning to buy one for my 2nd baby. This video really helps us deciding which is the best since we live in all-time warm climate. Thank you flr the review!

Which one is lighter, mesh or cotton?

Don't know about light but cotton is warmer, I got the cool air mesh so it's all seasons carrier, pretty robust for heavy use. I use a connecta for shorter trips
