I’m really glad you do budget builds and show that they can win. The format isn’t inaccessible even if it IS older than half the MtG playerbase. 😉😂 please keep making quality Old School content like this. I love it 🥰

As much as I love the Erhnam on Ice deck, it's always great to see budget decks taking down power. Great games!

Couldn't agree more. Although, I have to admit that statistically, Erhnam is the better deck. I really need the right pulls and that little luck to have the answers at the right time. In this case being able to deal with those angels.

It’s great to play. Blue is so versatile in oldschool. You can go full aggro on a budget (like this deck), go mid-range or all control.

I like the see through sleeves the best so you can also see the back of the cards.

Love your Blue Aggro deck and I'm thinking it would be a great starting point for me, as all I've ever played is White Weenie. Never played anything else. Luckily, I have all the cards in your main deck; however, what's in your sideboard, please?

Hi Tim. I'm a long time watcher but I seldom say anything. It may not be the best suggestion but I recently played with your deck at a little gathering I substituted the mind bombs for a card called "Flood" from The Dark and did really well with it. It works like a very expensive Moat. I managed to go 10 for 12 that weekend with that substitution and a few very minor tweaks. Anyway man another great video, keep them coming.

Flood! Brilliant, as a kid I loved the art with the cat on the roof. I was thinking about adding Psychic Venoms to deal with the Mazes and the Factories. Did you play EC or Swedish?
@myboringvoice
@myboringvoice 5 жыл бұрын
@@TimmytheSorcerer I always loved the art. I always imagined that cat thinking "....damned Planeswalkers..." But to answer your question, we were playing Swedish. Most of the folks there are all into what the game was like before the first worlds. I didn't care either way since I just wanted to play magic, though I think EC needs to restrict Hymn. Do you play any other formats other than old school?

I sometimes play sealed or drafts, but that’s about it. Only constructed format I play is old school 🤟

Great decks and game play! Just a suggestion: dis you think about adding unstable mutation to the blue aggro deck? It can speed things up :)
@TimmytheSorcerer
@TimmytheSorcerer 4 жыл бұрын
Most people play with it in blue aggro so it's def a viable strategy. Personally, I'm not a big fan, because it often leads to a 2 for 1 scenario, but like I said, many people play with it.

Timmy I do have a question from Spain !according to you personal experience is it worth it to buy revised set cards to take on old school? Or will I be left out of matches and events? Thanks ! And congrats, you're doing an amazing job!
@TimmytheSorcerer
@TimmytheSorcerer 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Manuel! Most events in Europe including the Fishliver Oil Cup play with Ravenna re-print rules, this means same art and same frame is allowed. In other words you can play with reprints from revised, 4th edition, chronicles etc. If I would start a collection now, I would buy reprints and focus on buying original prints from cards that are not reprinted. Obviously, there will always be tournaments that play 100% Swedish, but the majority of tournaments allows reprints.

@@TimmytheSorcerer I run a few less creatures so that I can play more counters and a playset of Unstable Mutation. Also my creatures are all flying and some are heavy hitters (Serendib Djinn). Main strat is to get unstable on something, then counter, kill, or boomerang anything that gets in it's way. So that the sting of the Djinns isn't so harsh (if my draw goes right) I added some Tolarias and I can use the Strip Mine or Factories for saccing instead of taking 3 damage every turn.
@TimmytheSorcerer
@TimmytheSorcerer 5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a solid game plan. I eventually chose not to play unstable because of the two for one, but I still doubt if it isn’t a better option to play unstables instead of mind bombs. Wish I still had the 5/6 djinn, such a beautiful card. Traded them away years ago and still regret it. 😢
@FinalManaTrigger
@FinalManaTrigger 5 жыл бұрын
@@TimmytheSorcerer Yeah, the 2 for 1 is bad, which is why I wanted more counters in the deck. I run 4 counterspells and 2 power sinks, with 2 more sinks in the sideboard. I also have 2 boomerangs maindeck and 2 sideboard, so I can always bounce a creature back to my hand instead of losing it. I still run 2 mind bombs main, so I can swap them out for the boomerangs or sinks if I think I'll need them. Maybe I should just put the bombs in the sideboard permanently!

Quick question, what dice are you using in the video?

I think you can find them on eBay, just wooden D6 dice that are a little bigger than your average dice.
