i tell you - this guy is the most under-rated and under-estimated guitarist of all time. his tone and feeling are simply unique. After hendrix, eric is my all time favourite player

who cares about the vocals.....its Eric Bell.....he deserves nothing but respect for being the most original guitar player to ever grace the fretboard.

Everyone should care. It's a crappy singing voice. It's terrible sounding to the ears. That's why.

Eric is not a good singer, but, you know what? It works. There's a certain charm in his vocals that comes across as genuine and works with the song. And he's playing really well, too. That's cool. Good for him! He may not have been part of Lizzy's most successful era, but he was an important part of the band - and this is one of their best songs!

It's fantastic to see Eric Bell still going strong. I saw him live back in 1972 when Thin Lizzy were supporting Slade. He played a a transparent glass guitar at that concert and was fantastic. Keep on rocking Eric.

Saw them in 73' ... Obviously Eric doesn't have the vocal panache that Phil Lynott had, but boy can he still throw out that mean rock sound on his strat...! Superb Mr. Bell... just superb!

I have been listening to Lizzy's early albums frequently recently and I have concluded that Eric is the most inventive and experimental guitarist ever to have been in Thin Lizzy.I wonder if Alex Lifeson was inspired to write the opening guitar passage on 'Spirit of the Radio' after listening to a section of Eric's extended solo from 'The Rocker' from the 'Vagabonds' album?

@johnathanjordan64684 жыл бұрын
@@factorylad5071 just I prefer this sort of guitar playing, personal preference I have nothing against van Halen at all.So shouldn’t give you Crosby effect,Eddie is very important in the guitar world, just not a massive influence on me personally.

@@johnathanjordan6468 I know they are great and influential, but I've never been a fan of Hendrix or Van Halen. This year, I "discovered" Thin Lizzy and the 2005 Tribute to Phil. I had no idea Eric was this good. Gary and Eric have become my new favorite guitarists.

"its Eric Bell.....he deserves nothing but respect for being the most original guitar player to ever grace the fretboard" I think Vai, Fripp, Van Halen and Hendrix would like a word with ye.
@wloonie5 жыл бұрын
Fripp and Hendrix sure, Vai too with his effects. Van Halen? No way. He just overpopularised tapping, but it wouldn't ever cross his mind if he hadn't seen Steve Hackett doing it in the early '70s.
