@@joebryant8500 is it some "metal superiority" I'm detecting here? like, you do know that "shredding"(quotations for a reason) just means someone playing like a virtuoso
@MarsLonsen5 жыл бұрын
@@joebryant8500 pffft, you obviously don't know what a strawman is and take your own tip and look this stuff up before embarrassing yourself on the internet. this took me literally 2 secs "Shred guitar or shredding is a virtuoso lead guitar solo playing style for the guitar, based on various advanced and complex playing techniques, particularly rapid passages and advanced performance effects." most people don't even use the word "shredding" in a musical context and even tho he is, in this case, doesn't mean that he's referring to any "specific set of technics". just imagine a world where words have several meanings... you don't even have to imagine it, you just have to open your eyes. and last, the claim isn't "virtuoso = shredding(an actual strawman). the claim was: (in this case and in most cases)"shredding" just means someone playing like a virtuoso. but yes i could have formulated my original comment a little differently so my point would be clearer, that's my bad for having dyslexia and not realizing that i was dealing with a contrarian.
@MarsLonsen5 жыл бұрын
@@joebryant8500 lol, what an eloquent and long-winded way of saying "I'm not interested in what you have to say nor anyone else for that matter. i will gladly misrepresent your opinions, ignore a lot of what you've written and straight-up lie to "win" an argument - because winning boosts my already astronomically big ego" XD my point was and still is that the OP obviously dident mean shredding in the "category of rock" kind of way but rather the older and original definition of the word "ripping something apart/shredding/destroying" in a hyperbole kind of way ofc. so, in the end, you ended up ignoring the semantics just because you wanted to be right. the fact that you felt the need you correct him shows character as well and that's why i asked you if you were a metal head because that would make a lot of sense. metal/jazz superiority is a thing because they are the more complex genres, and the fact that you just shrugged it under the rug just shows how intellectually lazy you are. its yet another 2-sec google search. i just remembered - you're not going to read this because you've already won, this again, show how intellectually lazy you are. because you haven't won, all you've done is to show everyone that you have an enormous ego and that you'll stop at nothing to win an argument. and i have a pulls clock and its been staying around 50-54 bpm this whole time so no, im not angry. I'm a combination of intrigued, humored and a little annoyed that a person with your vocabulary and intellect can at the same time be such an arrogant nuisance XD

In 2004 I took my 17 yo daughter to the first Crossroads festival and it was life-changing for us. Since then, we've seen Clapton 6 more times, John Mayer 10 times, Buddy Guy, B.B King, Eric Johnson, Joe Bonamassa, John Mayall, Mark Knopfler, Sonny Landreth, Jack Broadbent, Bonnie Raitt and others. This was her first real exposure to blues, and I never imagined that 20 later that would have led us to seeing 50+ shows together and given us such an enduring and special connection.
