Underrated Clapton song! The whole “Journeyman” album is as well. I was a kid working at a record store (remember those ha ha) when this was released and this song along with “Pretending” we’re on the in-store playlist. Not only are they great tunes, but they take me back to a more innocent time in my youth that always puts a smile on my face. Love the reaction, thanks!

If anybody's interested: Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles on background vocals, Nathan East on bass and vocals, Greg Phillinganes on keyboards and vocals, Steve Ferrone on drums (red shirt), and Ray Cooper on drums and percussion (sunglasses). What a powerhouse band they were!

My favourite EC era.........saw this gig at the RAH and loved it all- he got thru his 80s experimenting and returned to blues/rock.

I don't think you can go wrong with any Eric clapton concert especially if you dont mind low down rootsy blues, almost intentional from Eric he has this minimalistic style 'seemingly' so harking back to early roots blues. obviously end result is rock blues which is his wheelhouse.

Hello and thank you for this channel. I have nothing to add about this song, but I want to say you both have such warm, sincere and engaging smiles. You present as if we are beloved guests in your home. The world needs this now more than ever. Thank you! PS, Eric Clapton does a song I believe from this same recording called “OLD LOVE” and I would get these two songs confused. I prefer “OLD LOVE” by a small margin. I hope you have a chance to listen to that song too. It is much slower and less intense than this song, I’d say it’s a ballad. Peace and joy! Andy W

I don't understand why no one plays Clapton's "The Core", for me it's his best hit which is on the album Slow Hand, everything borders on excellence, a frantic rhythm a phenomenal saxophone solo and Clapton is fantastic at the guitar, I've only seen 3 posts on this piece, it's desperate!!!

Nathan East is the fabulous bass player. Eric and Phil Collins were good friends and Nathan played quite a bit with both (though Phil most often used Leland Sklar on his solo work) The whole band exudes joy.
