In a lot of "statements" throughout different epochs, people were "hearing" the voice of God in their head (definitely not me as an atheist), which wouldn't be audibly at that point... and a voice like that in your brain would shatter the same (rhyme not intended). Meanwhile, despite being a fictional Character made by the church, people who believe in God or are having at least some connections in that part without bing overly fanatic (and writing on facebook or KZbin something about Psalm and the Testaments to convert people... that is just... no, simply no) can only envision the Voice of God if he would be speaking to all of humankind. It has nothing to do with drinking, just logical thinking (Rhyme also not intended, but it was a good one).
