Loving Bonhoeffer and telling anyone that will listen the parallel of churches today and the German church of Hitler’s time. My Bible study group speaks about this issue and my church is facing the split coming regarding gay clergy and gay marriage. I’ll be praying that my church can stand biblically and not cave to the secular point of view. God help us!

I've found the deeper I get intellectually the more complex and profound the Jesus story becomes, it's miraculous on a personal level simply being aware of the contradictions in my morals and behavior yet the more history and culture I understand the better this puzzle piece fits (Jesus, yeshua), this is based entirely on the BC time period and the old testament. This was a great video comprised of different interviews. Eric, Father Frank Pavone, Priests for Life, was defrocked. Around election time, he gives good presentations on civics and how the system works. He has dedicated most, if not all, of his time as a priest to supporting life for the unborn. He proclaims his faith BOLDLY. He is a faithful servant to God and not to the Pope. I think he would be a good guest to have on your show. Eric, it was a great idea to have your colleague interview you. He asked good questions. I enjoy listening to you because you have a great way of explaining issues.

Preaching Law to people will only cause them to sin more. This is one of the main reasons God gave the Law to Israel(Romans 3:19). When sinful man tries to keep the Law(or tries to keep the “golden rule”)(or tries to follow Jesus’ example in their own strength), his sinful flesh is activated causing him to sin more and realize his need for a Savior(this is the struggle that Paul was referring to in Romans 7; the effect is the same for believers and unbelievers). Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount that even those that keep the Law outwardly, break it inwardly by lusting or hating in their minds and hearts. Preaching the Gospel of Grace, complete, unqualified forgiveness of all their sins and justification by faith alone in Jesus’ finished work at the cross will produce the fruit of the Spirit, the opposite of the works of the flesh Paul refers to in Galatians. *see Romans 7 and Galatians 5 “Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ We need to start preaching the Gospel that the early church preached if we want to see the same results they did. Preaching a mix of Law and Grace will either produce carnal Christians who can’t control their own lusts(see statistics of men in the Church who regularly view pornography), or self righteous, judgmental Christians who see themselves as better than the unsaved people of the world around them (much like the Pharisees of Jesus’ day). These Christians often view politics as the answer to cause culture to become more Godly…. The Ten Commandments are necessary to govern society and keep a degree of law and order, but true change will only come from believing the Gospel which will produce a true heart change from the inside out, changing the culture around us one life at a time. “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬-‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

America is drifting away from God because very few pastors are preaching the Gospel that Paul preached. The Truth we need to speak is Jesus and His finished work at the cross👇🏻 “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭13‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ This is the reaction when the true Gospel is preached 👇🏻 “So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭13‬:‭42‬-‭45‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Paul didn’t go around preaching against sin to unbelievers. He preached the total, unqualified forgiveness of sins and justification (righteousness) by faith. He said it was not his place to judge unbelievers, but only those who call themselves brothers and sisters in Christ who are living in unrepentant sin. 👇🏻 “I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner-not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Preach the true Gospel if you want to see culture around us change. *Did Paul try to assassinate Caesar….or did he preach the Gospel to him….?….🤔 The Gospel and evangelism that you’re minimizing is the answer America needs. Metaxas has written terrific books and he roots for being an engaged Christian tuned to God's will in all of current reality rather then being merely religious and avoiding hot potato topics such as the abortion issue or gender proliferation among younger kids and pre-teens. He is writing a letter to the American Church as he feels it is silent on these issues. I remember Metaxas fondly quite a few years ago in Socrates and the City programes, speaking to such science greats such as John Lennox or David Berlinski. Then I came across the following in Wikipedia: "After the 2020 presidential election, Metaxas endorsed Donald Trump's claim that the election was tainted by voter fraud, predicting on Twitter: 'Trump will be inaugurated. For the high crimes of trying to throw a U.S. presidential election, many will go to jail.' Metaxas also told Trump on Metaxas's radio show that 'Jesus is with us in this fight" to overturn the 2020 election. "I'd be happy to die in this fight,' Metaxas added." Trump, to me, was from the start and remains to this day the type of threat that needs to be pointed out and against which a true Christian has a moral obligation to stand up to. I therefore fail to be able to find consistency in Metaxa's view of looking for the truth and his long-term Trumpian endorsement. So it seems that truth which we are to find in God's will is actually relative and by no means easily found. Somewhat of a disappointment given the passion of his lecture here.

Eric, I really want to understand the difference between the Jewish holocaust and the abortion holocaust. Eric, ethnicity isn't a big thing in Orthodoxy now. So maybe Orthodox are Americans, and congregations are from all over the world, not just from one country. Greek Orthodox has people from the US, Georgia, Russia, Canada, etc. It's marvelous. I hope you'll come back to the Orthodox Church. Christ didn't found 44,000 churches, competing with each other.
