Fascinating. Now I just understood well the beauty and importance on having a good coach for chess development. Ive been playing chess for more than 10 years, been to a lot tourneys but didn't have any good coach. I just study on my own. Now i see a kid who was playing football now shifted chess and having a good coach and to think we were just the same in strength maybe in just a short span of time studying chess.

Reading the comments, I am actually quite surprised by the lack of lucidity showed by (apparently) the good chess players themselves here. He could have been a labourer, an angler or an astronaut, the background, the time allowed to chess, or the understanding of openings and tactics don't mean shit in front of genetic. He sees much more on the board than the vast majority of people, period. That's law of nature. Implacable. Maybe he can't explain it himself, it's hard to be bad when you are naturally good. You can love this game from the bottom of your heart and dedicate it your life, there would still be a possibility for you to be outclassed by somebody who barely takes the game seriously. A child for example. I would even say that some of the best players out there don't even know the game, and maybe will never meet it. Nature decides. He could have been anything other than a footballer, he was made for this game in a certain way.

The other week I was eating some pancakes when GM Eric Hansen walked up. To preface what happens next, I always put Aunt Jemima’s syrup on my pancakes, and this time was no exception. I was really excited for a moment because I love watching chessbrah, but after seeing my pancakes Eric proceeded to poor a whole bottle of maple syrup on my pancakes. Yeah, i am a 1700 chesscom player and i also felt his rating is bit inflated. He was constantly dropping pawns and he didnt go for any tricky moves considering the time advantage he had. I won't say 1400-1500 but more like 1800-1900 I guess.

@@brois841 No, I didn't mean when he beat Eric, in the video was mentioned that he beated another GM. I don't know what kind of game was, they didn't mention that, could be bullet or something. I think anyone can beat anyone in a blitz game, everyone can blunder. I randomly beated a guy rated 2500 by 2-0 one time (wasn't a GM) and I never reached 1700. But I took down a lot of 2000s. I never properly trainned, I play opennings by experience and I am kinda strong in the tactics trainner only.
