I’ve only just started using Nomad and it’s a lot of fun to use on my iPad, even though I also have ZBrush, but I use that if I need to make a more complex model. Also, I didn’t know you can paint a 3D Model in Procreate! Okay, I think I’ll be an iPad Artist now thanks to you! Wow! So glad I could help you make that decision. I tell everyone that I have used various digital styli since the 90s including the best Cintiqs, but the Apple Pencil is hands down my favorite. The fact that the whole pen tip is capacitive rather than just the nib makes using things like tilt so much more natural. Be sure and get a matte screen protector - makes it feel more like a Wacom screen that way. Oh- and enjoy the mobility of sculpting in bed! ;)

@@jManraM Nomad and Procreate are fantastic apps and will go a long way towards pro level modelling and illustration work. In fact, there are many top notch pro-level illustrators that use Procreate almost exclusively. However, at some point in your journey, you will still need a decent desktop PC with possibly Blender and Krita (both free). Armor Paint I think? But last time I used it, there was much to be desired. I'm on an iPad myself. Nomad's vertex paint can be great too if your poly count is high enough
@TamaraKane2 жыл бұрын
Decimate low? Vertex? Different axes? I…like clay. 😊
@TamaraKane2 жыл бұрын
Also, how did you add the model to Procreate?
@eric3dee2 жыл бұрын
It sounds more complicated than it is usually. Most of this terminology just comes from more traditional poly modeling on a computer. Decimate = make simpler geometry (less polygons/vertices). Vertex = a point/corner of a polygon/face that makes up the model. Axes= X, Y, and Z directions. Y is normally up. As for getting the model to Procreate, you have to decimate (make the geometry simpler) first, then have Nomad AutoUV the model (unwrap the coordinates so a flat texture can be wrapped onto the model). Then, export the file as an OBJ which can be shared to or imported into Procreate. I hope that all makes sense! I go through the same process in my Bob Ross video if you want to check that out too. If it's still confusing, perhaps I should consider doing a primer video on 3d terminology and techniques?

Nomad is on a whole other level compared to the others. Really great sculpting tools combined with an excellent realtime render engine. I think it is more on the level with Blender's sculpting tools. You can absolutely use it for professional work (I do!) but there are definitely limitations. You can use it for printable or static meshes, but if you want to create animated characters, you will need to retopo it among other things in a proper 3d dcc package.
