I wish they had more regular firmware updates - otherwise I agree that Behringer will eat the market. I have this module and love it - I just wish there was more features coming (or open source so we can add features) e.g. its frustrating that drum sequencers don’t come with Euclid feature as it’s easy to code

I agree. so many missing features. conditions, different kind of probability, Voltage control per step.... and all of this can be done via firmware update.

Behringer just makes clones, it absolutely cannot be compared to Erica Synths. Erica Synths is totally innovation oriented, behringer can just copy others concepts and make them cheaper using mobile-phone-like ssd chips.

Honestly, I absolutely love this module... Its mechanical keys are big big plus for me, I love the feeling as a mech keyboard user already. But in all seriousness, I feel like they missed a trick here. If they had put even 1 more, but ideally 3 more CV/Gate outs, it would have been INSANE. And in a perfect world, every accent out would be a full blow CV out, which would make it the undisputed heavyweight champion of all eurorack serquencers. I know why they did it - they want you to buy the other sequencer. That's just so much HP!! Amazing video as always dude, cheers!

Like a real 909, 606, Schaltwerk, etc. Will the drum sequencer finish a pattern up before abruptly switching from pattern 1 to 2? I know it has immediate switching (which i HATE!), but will it allow flowing transitions from one pattern to another by finishing up it's current pattern completely and then commence to the next? I can't get a definitive answer from anyone on this..

@gullyman7773 жыл бұрын
Brvno but there sync is the worst 😂 take the rd8 as a key example for their “firmware updates” it was unusable for months they sold a product that simply didn’t work as intended then took ages to release a viable update. Yeah I own one but it put me off buying anything from them again. All I can say is you think they will make a sequencer with a solid firmware think again...shit engineering practises “they listen” because they cannot think for themselves and us customers for QA and testing 😂
@brvnoo3 жыл бұрын
@@gullyman777 I can see your point and I think it should be illegal to release an unfinished product. But I am in this gear world for a long time to know there is not one single digital product from any brand released after the 90's or even before that without errors in firmware, missing features etc. Every manufacturer release their products with error or missing something and some dos not even bother to fix it. Erica released this sequencer with many bugs and external sync problems, just look at the update history. I'm sure with Behringer it wont be different. What I can't understand is why we have to keep begging to every manufacturer to fix or implement things when this is a f... digital programming we can just learn and make it for ourselves. Why not open the code and let us do it? They could sell their firmware version, no problem, but let us free of them. This kind of gear should be just a platform.

I can't find a way to start a new, *empty project*, or a way to clear all patterns. Do I need to do a factory reset to be able to have a clean start? Surely, I'm missing something? 🤓

You can just choose an empty bank! in Pattern play mode (pattern LED solid) press Bank and any of the 16 grig buttons to choose a Bank you haven't used yet. To clear a pattern, select it in Pattern play mode and press the clear button. In pattern program mode (pattern LED blinking) you can clear notes from a track by holding clear as it plays, or shift + clear to erase the track immediately

Thanks! I have this one, Tukra, SWT16, LL8 and Euclidean Circles. The Erica is the most intuitive and comfortable, with the bright display and the delicious soft buttons. LL8 and Euclidean are great for small systems and very immediate programming, and Tukra is complex to learn at first but includes it's own sounds. i’ve watched this video upteen times and find it the most useful and comprehensive tutorial online anywhere. this is hands down my favorite drum sequencer; layout, programmability, and ease of use right outta the box. that being said, i’m on mac and not a tech savvy guy to begin with, leaving me frustrated when it comes to updates. it’s never happened and i gave up. i’ve taken the low road of stubbornness to the point of destitution. now my TRIG 16 has disappeared, or i never noticed it because i never needed it. i have a euclidean circles in the same case. do i need to run windows in my mac or use a pc/windows to make updating possible? any help is greatly appreciated. i did do the factory reset a few times, but nothing. thank you from texas 🤠
@QuincasMoreira3 жыл бұрын
I use mac too! You need to use the Sys Ex librarian application and an interface with DIN Midi Output. Connect a MIDI cable from the interface's MIDI Output to the included TRS to MIDI DIn Adapter, connect that to the DS's MIDI input. Load the FW file in the SYSEX Librarian App. Then : 1. With the .syx file selected on your desktop, turn to your module and Hold STEP KEYs 1 & 4 then 2. Turn on the power to Drum Sequencer and immediately press Enter on your keyboard to send the SysEx File. It is especially important that there is as little time between sending power to the module and sending the SysEx file as possible
