Cool trip and cruise. We only went to two islands. We walked pretty much everywhere we went, we relaxed on the beaches mostly and toured around. Not many guided tours. I had the sopa de papa after mountain biking around Cotopaxi, so good when your cold. Enjoy Peru, it was awesome to , we went there 10 years ago, I think Ecuador is better though.

Loved seeing this. Didn't realize the GoPro was so essential for traveling there. We will need to get one before we head down. Or maybe it was you guys and the great videography 😉 Another really amazing video. You guys got the magic. Onward to Peru. Can't wait...

Thanks John! And yes we did a collaboration with them. But we did a lot of research beforehand of what cruise we wanted to go on and sought them out so we stand by our recommendations 100% :)

Awesome, just awesome! It is kind of sad that you are leaving beautiful Ecuador, but I am looking forward to your visit to Peru. I have been to Machu Picchu, however, I did not climb little Machu Picchu because I am a stroke survivor. I am glad that I had passed on the climb because I heard that it was kind of scary.

Your videos never disappoint me! Thanks a lot! I'm wondering, after all your travels in Ecuador, what would be the differences between your initial expectations and what you have experienced?
@EricandSarah3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Arturo! We would say all of our initial impressions of Ecuador are still true. We'd also say the country was even more beautiful than we expected!! We definitely didn't expect how inconvenient certain things in Ecuador could be though... some things seemed to be unnecessarily complicated or time-consuming. But we got used to it pretty quick :)

Love this! I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on filming while snorkelling? I'm going to the Galapagos in a few weeks and would love to get some awesome and steady underwater footage like that :)
@EricandSarah2 жыл бұрын
How exciting for you!! We shot everything underwater on our GoPro Hero 8. I would recommend maybe trying it in a pool before you go to check that you have the white balance correct (or the footage sometimes ends up super blue). As for steadiness, that was Eric’s skill… mine not so much 😂 It takes practice to snorkel and hold the GoPro really steady. Having a handle helps… but otherwise you just have to consciously focus on keeping it steady even if you’re diving around. Good luck! 😄

hello! just booked with royal galapagos! I'm wondering what shoes you'd recommend to bring on this cruise. i'm curious about what's necessary for wet landings and dry/hiking. it looks like the hikes aren't terribly technical so maybe one good rugged pair of water shoes would be fine? (I have some that look like sneakers with a rugged sole.) i was going to bring tevas/chacos but it seems like that may be overkill. thanks!
@EricandSarah2 жыл бұрын
Hey!! That’s so amazing! You’re going to love it We had sneakers/runners for dry landings and hiking, but just had close toed sandals for wet landings. Sarah used chacos for wet landings and it was great. You still do some good walking after the landing so it’s not a bad idea to have some decent footwear. Enjoy!!

Dumb question but were the wetsuits because the water was cold?
@EricandSarah3 жыл бұрын
Yes it's quite cold this time of year in the Galapagos (winter)! We could have done without them the last couple days because the water was a lot warmer but they also help you float easy while snorkeling :)

Are the wet suits hard to put on? Do ladies wear bathing suit underneath?
@EricandSarah2 жыл бұрын
They can be a bit difficult when wet but the staff can always help you if you need :) And yes bathing suit is best unless you own the wet suit.
