I remember, back in 2020 my now wife was working as a mechanical engineer and when covid hit the company started doing some changes and laying ppl off and it became toxic af, she got pissed and decided to do what she wanted before college, so she cut all her hair and enlisted in the air force. She got stationed in hawaii, we married, and she got some tattoos and a motorcycle. She decided it was time for her to do what she wanted and not what others wanted for her, turns out this has been the happiest i have seen her since we met back in 2012

Wow! I've grown and cut my dreads several times but never used a pocket knife. There really is no feeling quite like the reduced weight of cutting years worth of dreads off haha. Cheers!

That’s really admirable and inspiring because life is absolutely to short to hold on to things if you’re ready to move on! Also once everything is said and done, it will feel so good the first time you get your hair wet and it’s dry in 5-10 minutes and you don’t have to deal with 50 pounds of wet dreads!

This was almost exactly me last August. I am a dude and I grew my hair out for 5.5 years, although not dreads, and one day I just decided I was done and wanted a change. I didn't use a pocket knife though! lol Congrats!

People without really curly/wavy hair don't know the hassle it is. I know someone who in her teens and twenties was asked "Where did you get your perm?" a lot. Her reply was "It's natural." Other girls envied it, but they never saw the tears from brushing out tangles every night. In her late thirties it stopped being as wavy. She's cut it short and never been happier with it, even when the color started to go.
