What’s better than getting m8c running on every retro handheld device? Actually making sick beats with it! Amazing work dude 💜

I’ve never seen a headless version with a teensy4.1 integrated this smoothly! Great work✨👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@@KaztheBeatMaker thanks. It’s a neat little device to take on vacation in place of my real M8.

Is it still that finicky to setup? I have a teensy 4.1 laying around and I love those Anbernics with bigger screens and nicer buttons.

@@alecsbuga Lots of documentation on the newer XX models, I have it running on a RG40xxV and it's crazy how big the screen is.

@@MetroGradeGoods could you share some resources on how you integrated the teensy board into the device? Thanks! I can't find anything online :(
@MetroGradeGoods2 ай бұрын
@ most if not all the info is on the m8/headless discord. I didn’t take any video, but the teensy is located right behind the screen in the hollow void, and there is a usb c cable in the OTG port with the leads soldered direct to the teensy.

smooth! what's that VU meter if I may ask?
@MetroGradeGoods2 ай бұрын
@@SONWU I don’t know much about out. Just something off aliexpress, it picks up sound externally though, I wish it had an input. I had to run an external speaker for it to work.

how is the teensy board integrated in the handheld?
@MetroGradeGoods2 ай бұрын
@@720whip the teensy is located behind the screen inside the case, some of the inside was carved away to make room for the cable and it’s soldered directly to the teensy.

I‘m so confused right now. Please explain what is happening?
@MetroGradeGoods2 ай бұрын
@@Mindartcreativity the gaming handheld is running a kind of music making software called a tracker, kind of like spreadsheet of notes. The output of sound is fed into the silver mixer which interfaces with my phone to record the video.

Is the teensy inside the R33s case? how is it setup exactly? did you solder directly to the internal usb otg pins? I'm thinking of doing this exact setup if it's as fully enclosed as it seems in the video, every other headless m8 setup i've seen isn't very portable looking tbh
@MetroGradeGoods2 ай бұрын
@@emiloguechoons9030 I soldered to the teensy but the Otg connection is still made with a type c cable. A small right angle one. This way I can still update the teensy FW and update the handheld etc.
@emiloguechoons90302 ай бұрын
@MetroGradeGoods thanks for the reply :) I don't think I understand, what do you mean you soldered to the teensy *and* are using a USB connection, I thought the soldering is to avoid connecting via USB? sorry to ask so many questions, I'm just a bit confused is all, it's the cleanest headless m8 setup I've seen and I'm definitely interested in making it myself
