Did you connect the OTG cable to your dad's nexus 7 then connect the controller? Rooted is the android equivalent to jailbreaking.

I am not sure about the wired controllers but I do know that the Wireless Dual Shock controllers are compatible if you download an app called "Six Axis Controller". The only catch is that you will need to be rooted in order for the app to work. Thanks for watching.

The processors are about the same. The Nexus 7 has a quad core processor and the Nexus 10 has a dual core processor. Overall they are both about the same in terms of performance but the Nexus 10 certainly is not stronger than the Nexus 7, they are both about the same. The only advantage the Nexus 10 has is a high resolution screen. Other than that they are both pretty much the same in terns of performance.

Guys, to ask asking the same question. You don't need root. What you need is device with USB OTG compatibility. Nexus 7 is supporting USB OTG, that's why it works. Also, you can plug almost every gamepad out there, including Dualshock 3. I hope I helped.

I have heard that people managed to pair their wireless 360 controller with it but you will need to root in order for it to pair.

Yes it works with wireless xbox controllers without root (as long as wired controllers work on your phone without root), but it requires a USB receiver to be plugged into the phone, the same way you get a wireless xbox 360 controller to work on a PC.

I'm pretty sure you can but I think you will have to root in order to get that to work. You can get a wireless dual shock controller and use that but again you will have to root.

I cannot remember the name of the app but in the meantime try using your 360 controller with these two games: Dead Trigger and ShadowGun. Both of these games should support the 360 controller without root.

No from memory you don't have to root. But if it doesn't work then use an app called "Nexus media importer" and that will allow you to connect devices to your nexus 7 without the need for root access. Thanks for watching.

Hello Eric, I have a android Tv box and running latest OS KitKat I was wondering if you have experimented with six axis does it map each game or are those settings universal? Do you know if it works on the 360 controller? I am going to need an additional 360 controller so I thought this would be the route so that way I can use it on my Android Tv and the xbox 360, but if you think a PS3 wired controller works best I will get that instead any advise? I tried the moga controller do not like it and the MOJO controller is a good controller but can't use it on both systems. I also saw a usb hub you can connect to use the wireless controller but really don't think I need that.

I am sorry to say that I have not had any experience with the Six Axis Mapping app (which is only for rooted devices). So I can not advise you on how to use it. Out of all the controllers out there the 360 and Dual Shock controllers are the best options as they really are the best controllers currently available. Thanks for watching! It wont work as the charge and play kit cable only tranfers power instead of information so, to put it simply it wont work. You would have to buy a wireless receiver to work it! Hope this works!

No. Even if they did it would not work because apple have their iOS locked down and it would not support it. Android on the other hand has the software to support the 360 controller. So that's why apple should open up their iOS and not keep it locked down. Thanks for watching.

It is off for repair as a member of the family accidentally dropped it from quite a high distance. Now the screen panel is damaged. So I do not have it back in yet. Hey, I need help! My 360 controllers "work" on my phone, but all the games I've tried map the buttons and axes all wrong. They map the triggers to turn left/right, instead of the analog stick. And when I go to remap them, in any game that allows it, it is impossible, because the triggers are so "noisy" that they are constantly sending data, and the moment I tap on an axis to remap, like "turn left", it is instantly assigned to the trigger axis. What I need is a dead zone. How do I get one?
