Now a short oval like a north wilkesboro appearance or rockingham if it comes back to cup then that’s more likely. I wouldn’t be shocked if he raced at rockingham in xfinity this year.

there is something poetic about them entering with the #40. the number Sterling Marlin drove in the 2001 500, and Jr had to stand up in Sterling's defense from Sr's fans after that race. It's not really anything, but as someone who was a Marlin fan, I'm going to be rooting extra hard for this car.

I get what you are saying about Hendrick Motorsports having a fifth car , because Hendrick part owns Jrm , but you think about it JRM its own entity. I am glad NASCAR gave Dale Jr an opportunity he did a lot for NASCAR he is the reason why I started to watching nascar again!

1:25 Ricciardo's most likely debut would be COTA it's by FAR his favourite circuit on the F1 calendar, maybe second only to Melbourne (if only because Melbourne is his home race). He and the fans of F1 treat it like a second home race for him despite him not having any familial ties to Texas (or even the US). I could see him in the Project 91 or maybe the JRM 40 if this car comes back again

I don't think some people realize just how long Just Allgaier has been in the Nascar Xfinity series. This will be 17 years since his 2008 debut in the Nationwide Series and his first ARCA race was a year after Earnhardt died in 2002(Isn't that crazy!!!). That makes for this being his 23rd year since first joining Nascar. I cannot think of a more deserving driver for this opportunity.

I think Rick Ware felt like he really got burned by Justin Haley. I think he's going back to the only driver he knows he can trust. I think JR being able to run in the cup series is even though Hendrick is a part owner it’s not just a 5th Hendrick car. Really no different than Tricon running a car that is basically a 5th Gibbs car. Or when Levine Family racing was basically a 5th Gibbs car. I don't like Nascar's 3-car charter limit per team deal, because it comes across as arbitrary. I don't have a problem with Gibbs or Hendrick having 4 charters, but them being grandfathered in defeats the whole point of the rule. Rouche wasn't allowed to retain their fifth car in 2010, so how is this any different. And even though smaller team owners have said that 3 charters is the happy medium for them, that should still be their call. That rule, and the time it was added (during the court dates) just comes across as Nascar needing to exercise their authority over something. In other words, "Because I said so."
