Can i just put a plug on the oil cump for the 2 stroke injection? I took the 2 stroke oil jug completely out and just put a cap on the bottom of the oil injection pump. Can i run it like this? Going premix

The plug in the front cover is for inspection z. NO OIL SHOULS BE THERE.

@kmlrl the engine is disassembled had the oil pump issue that aloud the pump to siphin oil back into the engine when it was sitting. That's NOT NORMAL. There shouldn't be standing oil in the engine

@@EricksonMachinePerformance So, I am starting the engine by mixing gasoline and oil without using an oil pump. You cannot put oil other than gasoline into a 2-stroke engine. Are my lines correct?

@kmlrl on the kawasaki 650 jetaki engine the only oil needed if you removed the oil pump is the oil mixed in the gas. Premix 40-1 and go have fun. Some other engines ( mostly ,atv, dirt, snow) do have gear boxes that require oil. These do NOT

Its a sight window as an inspection port. NO OIL should be in the front cover

im a deal for all piston manufactures. they can be bored to 78mm BUT over 77mm you need to also bore the cases

Awesome video... I'm a beginner trying to learn, got a 750 that needs a rebuild. DId you say you don't reinstall the crank drain? If rebuilding a jet ski 750, do you recommend not using the oil pump anymore? and/or the crank drain?

yes i weld the crank drain. But the blockoff is fine and i recommend going premix. Its a much safer setup! THANKS FOR WATCHING

@@thefortnitekidd4747 honestly i don't really know why it died, but i made sure the new engine was all good and cooling water is flowing, switched to premix, got a few hours on the new engine, keeping the mixture rich for the first tank o gas or so... So far so good!

Correct. There are some 2 strokes that have gear sections or balance shafts that have oil but the engine internals are lubricant in the oil in the fuel

@@khanhduy1921 I pressure test all engines after rebuild. But if you're actually talking about starting the engine breaking it in and and tuning it that fairly rare . because it's not very common for me to have the entire electrical system and exhaust, carbs ect. Also it would add a huge cost Because the most efficient way to Break an engine in without having it on the water would be on a dyno and it would probly add close to a $1000 to the bill just to do so. Figure in the past 20 years I have built over to 10000 engines and have never found the need. I have a video that shows how to pressure test and engine also on the channel I just don't show it at the end of build videos because the added video length. I hope this answers ur question

@@EricksonMachinePerformance Fair enough. I have some oxidation in the waterways, how would you go about removing that? You don't really get that on bike and car engines and this is my first jet ski engine. It doesn't look excessively damaged but there is oxidation in the water ways.

It's a 2 stroke engine. The oil is mixed in the gas. Or there is an oil injection pump the adds the oil to the gas
