70.3 WORLD CHAMPS - 7th Place! My best race in years

7th Place at Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St George, Utah!! This is one of the biggest results of my career, and it came on the heels of a very challenging season, where I really haven't been performing at the level I believe I'm capable of. I really doubled down on my training the last few months, adopting a new strength routine, prioritizing workouts over everything else, and just generally doing a lot of the little annoying things that can fall by the wayside as life gets busy.

Great Job Eric. That 7th doesn't reflect how close it was. Taking away Gustav who was on fire. About 4 minutes separated 2 thru 9 so great battles right to the end. Long time follower and so happy for you. Sad to say that you easing off the filming for channel helped you focus on your goal (sad for us as viewers but more than happy for you). I would like to wish you an Irish good luck "go n-éirí an bóthar leat" (translation:- “May the road [i.e. the journey] be successful for you”) But as the saying goes " the more I train the luckier I get", So go get lucky both of you. I did that race in 2013.... hot...i was top 20 up until the run. One mile into the run i caved in, first time in my 20 yrs of tri's...im done, just bike a lot now @ 64. I just did 80 miles yesterday 4000 of climb...im still biking strong... Great job son...
