I love the subtle detail of the cash showing the nature of each character. Slavi undervalues it by calling it 9k McCall calls it exactly by saying its 9800 And Alina overvalues it in the end by saying its almost 10k Just a small detail most miss

In the original tv series, Robert McCall ran his work through a newspaper ad. Love this series of movies.

Denzel Washington studied people with OCD and their mannerisms for this roll to incorporate it into the character. It's why he's so exacting in everything and obsessed with time.

I grew up watching the original Equaliser TV series. Watched every episode and was sad the day the series finished. Was very skeptical when the idea of this film started on the rumour mill, but I have to admit, I have enjoyed watching this iteration and interpretation from Anthony Fuqua and Denzel Washington. Rest in Peace the great Edward Woodward, the original actor. 🙏♥️

I'm a big fan of Denzel Washinton, but IMHO, this character that he plays (Robert McCall) is my favorite by far. I used to watch the original 80s TV series that this character is based on, and I can honestly say that Denzel's portrayal is the BEST! I hope you'll react to the next film in the trilogy. You won't be disappointed. Great reaction!

For a dive into Denzel's best, I would point you toward his work with 3 directors. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Magnificent 7 remake & all 3 Equalizers), Spike Lee (Inside Man, Malcolm X, Do The Right Thing), and the late Tony Scott (Crimson Tide, Deja Vu, Man on Fire remake, Taking of Pelham 123 remake, Unstoppable).

Those of us who watched The Equalizer TV series back in the 90's knew the character's background. Edward Woodward starred as a former MI-6 Agent who had a Licence to Kill. Robert in the movies is most likely a CIA or NSA Agent who specialized in Wet Work (Assasination).

Equalizer. The early, old west was a dark and dangerous place. The strongest ruled until Colt developed a large caliber handgun. It was nick-named the Equalizer because at that point even the little guy was just as dangerous as the criminals and bullies. Denzel's character serves the same purpose for the weaker people he befriends.

McCall and Susan were DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) not CIA. McCall was a former assassin/spy and Susan worked intel. He's killed A LOT of people in the service of the country, but he's haunted by it. Helping people helps him deal with the guilt or trauma from the lives he's taken. He even says he's done things he's not proud of, but his sense of justice make him a very cool and interesting character. Great reaction.

You guys should be aware of the original TV show from the 1980s "The Equalizer" that starred a British actor (Edward Woodward) who did the same thing via classifieds ads in the paper. He was far less lethal in his solutions (although not always) and it was really campy but he drove a cool Jaguar and I was totally into it as a young teenager. The intro is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWman3d4ft6km7c It was entertaining...

Robert went Micheal Meyers on the baddies at the end. LOL Not once does he use a firearm, he uses creative ways to take care of the enemies. He gave everyone a chance to do the right thing, so its not like he's some cold blooded killer. Robert is very OCD, it was something that Denzel wanted to add to the character. There are two other movies for you to see. Another good Denzel movie that doesn't get the credit it deserves is The Book of Eli, which takes place in the post apocalypse.

Equalizer 2.... is *_Definitely_* worth the watch.... But... Equalizer 3..... *_not_* worth it. I'd give this one, the first an 8.5/10.... 2 I'd give a solid 7.5/10.... But the 3rd one... *_barely_* gets a 6/10. No spoilers here, but there is *easily* only 1/3 of the action and maybe only 1/2 of the story that this one had. The 3rd took *_FOREVER_* to do *ANYTHING* and then when it did, I was seriously _UNDERwhelmed_ You'll probably watch it to complete the series... but.... if you didn't have a channel based on movie reactions, it *_really_* would not be worth your time, as I personally wish I had done something else with those 2 hours I'll never get back.
